Hello. Im new to all this today was my first visit with the surgeon and I'm nervous. I need to get blood drawn and a doppler on my legs plus he wants to do an Endoscopy. I'm not nervous about that I'm nervous about the weeks to come he said anywhere between 30-45 days he would like to do the surgery.

What have you guys done in prepartion for the surgery. My insurance requires no diet pre op or nothing. I have cut out most of my pop and after today I am saying good bye no more. I'm trying to cut out some of the complex carbs like bread, Pasta and rice. I'm trying to implement the Protein supplement into my diet. Is there anything else I should do?

I'd just enjoy your life right now. You'll get to cut out all those things soon enough, and with your band, it won't be hard. Right now it's a struggle. Cut out SMOKING if you smoke. Prepare for post-op recovery. Lots of sugar free Jello, popsicles, chicken & beef broth, crytsal light, Protein mix powders, etc.... Does your doc require you to do a preop diet? Many don't. I think that last week I ate everything I could think of that I knew I'd miss in the future! hehehe

The one thing most people seem to have a lot of problems with is not drinking with their meals. Try to eat your food slowly and chew it thoroughly so you can start eating your meals without any liquids. This will help you with the transition.
