I think im too tight!

Recommended Posts

I went in for my fill (2nd) on Wednesday.( had 3 cc's then he added 1.6 cc's on wed- in my 10 cc band) Now, it being monday, I should be on normal foods again. The first days I was on liquids and then it was time for mushies. But everything I ate came back up. I tried scrambled eggs, refried Beans, tuna, it all gave my that awful chest tightening feeling and made me get sick, so I called my doc and he said to go back to liquids for a few days. Now, being monday, I tried to eat eggs again, It didnt come back up but I still fell that chest tightness. I know im eating slowly and chewing well. Also when drinking I feel that tightness....I think im too tight, any opinions?

yes you maybe to tight. The same thing happened to me on my second fill and that was a week ago and i can only eat a very little at a time without having that tightening feeling. But mine was due to not chewing good and eating to much on a fork...try eating very very little at a time or go back and telly our doctor to take a little out.

Yes have some taken out you can always have more put in later but sounds like you are way too tight - I can't imagine having that much put in so close together - I had 1.50 getting me up to 2.75 and I had to have .25 taken out or I would not be able to eat at all - last night I threw up all my dinner because it wouldn't go down but the night before was able to eat some steak, spinach with no problem - I can't figure it out.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
