Okay everyone... this is more about weight loss. I wanted to share this picture of my mom BEFORE gastric bypass. I will try and find a picture of her now....... She was 385 in this pic I think and is now 165 or so.

I recently found a girlfriend from 9th grade at Classmates.com. She was a total slob so I'd never sit on her scary bed, only the floor for me, thanks. We were into rock n' roll and witchcraft. She recently sent me this, and if you look close, that's a Ouija board and a Lord of The Rings book behind me on top of the Pink Floyd and Ted Nugent albums! I wouldn't doubt if that's a Zigzag shirt, either!

Okay.... last one for today... My mom is one of those old ladies that seems to live for her little doggie. This dog hit the jackpot when getting an owner. However..... he does have to deal with the dress up. This dog is a MALE. My mom swears he looks happy and cute. I say he is mumbling to himself... "I hope this lady hurries up because I look ridiculous yet AGAIN! and don't want the girl poodle across the street to see me like this, its bad enough she saw me in my tu-tu last week"

I just love this thread, everyone looks so great and your hubbies are cute and your kiddos are adorable and your puppies are sweet! It's a great day on LBT!!

Here's an old one of me, circa 1987, age 22 or so. the shorts were size 9. sigh.

Whoa! It's a bit big, anyone please feel free size it down! Check out the big 80's sunglasses and the 80's hair, which basically is the same cut as I have now, except I don't spend a 1/2 hour flipping it with the curling Iron anymore! Yep, cold beer in hand, headed to a Frat party on campus...ahhh, the good ole days. And I thought I was fat.

Here is a pic of my now gone mother's mom. She was a Flapper in her day. She danced the charleston every chance she got. Let me tell you a story about her. We were leavng the church one sunday and at that time my then hubby was trying to grow a mustache with not much luck. She turns to me and say really LOUD, with the pastor right there. "I have more hair on my pussy than Fred does on his upper lip" I died of embarrassment but when I looked at the pastor he was smiling and laughing. Fred wanted to hide. I busted out laughing and Mammie just grinned from ear to ear. Turned with grace and walked down the steps. LOL!! She was a pistol. I miss her terribly.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
