What Kind of Soup Are U Eating During The Mushie Stage?

Recommended Posts

I hate those campbell cream of Soups.

I thought about broccoli and cheese but broccoli is fiberous and I was told to stay away from that. Also, I'm not in the vegetable stage.

What can I eat besides egg drop Soup?

Thanks

I made potato Soup. Just cook it until the potatoes fall apart. I am not sure if your Dr. would approve but I had no trouble with it. You could put broth in it and give it a different taste.

Good luck.

Don't forget about the blender or food processor. Just about anything becomes mushy when you do that. Brocolli and cheese would be perfect that way.

I had progresso Soups, they were good. I blended up the chicken and rotini and it was good!! Tomato basil was good too.

Potato Soup Bob Evans was good too, get carry out!!!

I survived on Tomato Soup. I also put vegetable Soup in a blender and made a creamy thicker blend. I ate sweet potato baby food. The cream of wheat was good. I also ate cottage cheese during my mushy phase (the whipped kind was good) Honestly, I survived mostly on Protein shakes (Isopure, Myoplex Light) Tomato soup, cottage cheese, and 60 calorie sugar-free chocolate pudding.

The mushy phase goes by quick and soft food gives you a ton of choices.

Best,

Amanda

I made the mistake of blending hot Soup when I was first on mushy stage - yipes. The cover came off the blender right after I started it up and I'm lucky I didn't get burned.

So, blend whatever soup you can find, but blend it cold, and then heat it up.

Best wishes to you.

Sue

Go to Whole Foods or other good store near you and get their salad bar or deli Soups, then take home and put in the blender. Spinach, celery and broccoli are no problem as long as you blenderize first.

I made chicken and vegetable Soup with paprika and lentils and split peas, Boiled for a couple of hours until the liquid was thick and tasty. I strained the liquid for my own meals (frozen in little packages) and gave my husband the rest to eat which he loved!

I was not allowed Soups during the mushie stage. I could have eggs, Beans, lentils and salad spreads (egg, chicken). I was most definitly not allowed potatoes.

Of course, my doctor does not allow more than 30 carbs a day.

My new favorite butternut squash Soup would be great for you.

take 2 butternut squash peel and chop them. Then drizzle them with olive oil salt and pepper and bake at 350 until soft, also bake a sweet potatoe. Meanwhile suatee two large onions in butter until soft add in two cartons of chicken stock. When the squash and potatoes are cooked add them into the stock. Puree until creamy. Add in 3-4 cans evaporated milk. season with salt, pepper, ginger, cumin, turkey seasonings and maple syurp. This tastes like thanksgiving, it is sooo good!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
