  1. 1. When did you get your 1st fill?

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 8/29/08 I received my first fill on 9/23/08 (3 wks and 4 days out) and that fill was 2cc.....nothing different at all so I called the dr and they told me to come back the following week 9/29/08 and I received another fill of 2.5 cc so my grand total is 4.5cc in my 10cc band. I feel a silght difference but nothing major. I have had a few episodes with chicken but that is getting better as well. I am scheduled for another fill on 10/20/08 which should get me to where I need to be I hope. I am down 20lbs since surgery and I just started working out so I hope to see more results soon!!!

I survived my first fill and it was a little more intense than I thought it would be, but my threshold for discomfort is HIGH so I made it  The Dr. had a hard time finding the port site, so finally after the sixth try he got it and then I drank a glass of Water then out I go. I don't feel or see any differences in my eating but it's only the first one. The area around my port site was a little tender for a week after too, I'm sure from all the probing and pushing on my abdomen. I apprently there was 4cc already there from the surgery, so he added one and now I have 5cc in my 10 cc band. Hope all the August All Stars are doing well - I'm doing great!

I was banded August 11, 2008, no fill yet. Yesterday was 12 weeks post op. On my last appt, the doctor said I was doing good with the small fill during surgery, and my new learned eating habits are taking care of the weight. They mentioned ther was one guy that went 6 mts without a fill.

PreOp weight: 323 BMI: 42.61

Today: 258 BMI: 34.04

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
