Dr. John Bagnato - georgia girl's Bandiversary!!

Recommended Posts

Today is my 1-year Bandiversary and I couldn't be more pleased with my results so far. As of today, I am officially 100 pounds down! I'm so excited I could scream!! My hard work over this past month has paid off.

I feel better than I have felt in 10 years. When I look back where I was a year ago, I am just amazed at the difference. A year ago I got winded just walking to my car and now I can run almost 1.5 miles straight! I'm starting to tear up as I type this because I am just so happy. You guys have been a tremendous help, through the losing spurts and the awful plateaus. Thanks for the support everyone! Couldn't have done without ya'll.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!! You truly are an inspiration to me. As you know, I am on a stinking plateau right now, and had decided that reaching 100 by my bandiversary was just not possible at this point. Well, you proved me wrong. I have 15 pounds to go and my bandiversary is October 24. I am joining you with low carbs again in the morning. You have inspired me, my best banded buddy!!

Savor the day!! You earned it!!! I only wish I could Celebrate with you in person!

Congratulations for your accomplishment. I know that you must feel good emotionally and physically. Even though I have only dropped about 30 lbs I am feeling better already too, so I can't imagine how cool I will feel losing as much weight as you. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations and it's wonderful to see that all your hard work is paying off in a big way. You put me to shame when it comes to the running/workouts.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks bestest band buddy! I couldn't have done it without YOU. All the PM's about not losing and plateaus....I can't count the times you have encouraged me to keep going! You're the best! And I think we will meet one day. We should make it a priority after we both get to goal. Kind of a reward for making it type thing....

cheers GG!!!!!

A lot of the monthly groups do meet in their band anniversay month - us Lucky #7's met at the Mall of America this past July - there were 5 of us that could make it - Cali - Wash - Montana - Canada - Wisconsin are all the states that were repersented - it's great to meet in person..

I highly suggest it... It was a ball...

Definitely!! It's gonna be hard, but I'm hoping to lose these last 80 lbs faster than the first. I'm just gonna work as hard as I can and hopefully now that I've upped my exercise so much, it will come off faster. Yeah, I think we can talk our DH's into it...

Thanks Jeannie! I sure hope I can run the whole thing. Even if I can't, it's just about finishing it. Who cares if we have to walk a little.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
