Hi! I'm a slow loser too. I was banded on June and I've only lost 25 lbs. Didn't lose any weight when I was on post-op diet. I started losing weight when I got my first fill, July 29th. Lost 25 lbs in two months and one week. I think that's kind of slow. I hate exercising, I did it for a few weeks and then retired. It's too hard. The only thing I like is walking but it's kind of cold in the mornings now. I work full time and go to college full time too. I really don't have much time to exercise. On top of that I'm a single mom with four kids! Any suggestions!!!!!!!!

Two things -

1. 25 pounds in 8 or 9 weeks is a fantastic rate to lose weight. It's not slow by any means. You're doing great! Enjoy.

2. You have to want to exercise to fit it in your schedule. I have to exercise now that I've worked it into my schedule. I hated it at first and had every reason in the world not to do it. I work full time, have 1 child and have a husband in the hospital and I still find time to exercise every day. I hope you give yourself a chance to get used to doing it, you'll end up loving it.

Thanks Ezma!

Congrats on your weight loss! If you can find the time to exercise having your husband in the hospital, I think I can adjust and somehow find time too. I am also going to eat more Protein based meals. I have to admit that I'm not drinking enough Water. That's my goal for this week!!!

I have 2 words for exercize---it's not what you think...Wii FIT! (ok, maybe it's one word). I bought mine yesterday, and it is great. I am not an exerciser at all. Before I got banded, I bought a $500 treadmill and swore i would use it faithfully...Almost 2 years later, I may have been on that thing a 20 times. My husband just put it on craigslist. Anyhoo, the fit is grat. Althought I am starting sloe (32 minutes for the past two days) i can really start to feel my muscles start to ache.

I am a slooooowww loser too. Getting burned out on Curves, had to go back on birth control, and my insulin resistance med. I am hoping the Actos will counteract the weight gain from the Junel. Last visit to doc I had GAINED 4 pounds upped my fill to an 8 now. Now the doc is talking about weight loss meds. Damnit, I mean if I knew I was going to have to go on Adipex or something else, what was the point of banding? ARRRGHHH!:smile2:

Hey April, it's great to see you on again. Sorry to hear you're fighting with it right now too. Just keep in mind that it's the meds, not you. Keep your head up and keep up the good work. It will all stabilize soon. As far as weight loss meds..if it works, what the heck. I'm going on South Beach diet soon, shouldn't have to do that with the band either. But I really think I need to kick start things again. Glad to hear you've kept up with the exercise. If you're burnt out on Curves, look for something new that excites you. There's all kinds of videos on the web - aerobic, belly dancing, kick boxing, dance. Plus there's walking, biking, swimming, running, all kinds of sports. If you like it, you'll do it.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
