MAMY 0 Posted September 21, 2008 FYI...if you add a sugar free, on the go Koolaide packet, the Isopure tastes much better than it already does.
slim&trim 0 Posted September 24, 2008 Beneprotien should only be used as a supplement to add to your protien intake, I did try to get most of the things I eat now with protien in them but if you need supplyment it is a good way to add to your food without makeing it taste funny I did hear that K20 Water is really good also. As for gas, walking has really helped me, thank goodness it is finally coming out, sure does feel better.
alteration 0 Posted September 24, 2008 (edited) Hi, Im in the same boat as you, my surgery date is October 1st and i am a little nervous cause i am not at all a sipper! I am a gulper! The nutritionist gave me a post op diet plan that instructs me to drink Clear Liquids every hour along with the Liquid Protein that they had. Im going to do the clear broth blocks that you melt in hot Water, they have chicken and beef which is very good, plus it makes you feel full! Im also doing Jello (sugar-free) and popsicles (sugar-free), and of course the crystal lights and water. You will make it, just dont stretch or mess up that band! For the first 2-3 months, i am going to take it extra lite to ensure that everything stays in place, it will be all worth it! For the sipping issue, i need Jesus for that! lolol Edited September 24, 2008 by alteration
tracysmile 0 Posted September 25, 2008 Yes, I am a reformed gulper! Taking large sips gives me the hicups or heartburn! Good luck with your surgery!
MissBS 3 Posted September 25, 2008 Yes. If you try to gulp with the band, you will remember to sip. I was never a sipper either, but I am now. It hurts if I take too big of a sip. And I've noticed so far that hot liquids go down smoother for me than cold ones. Hurt a tiny bit when I ate a sf popsicle today. I had to hold it in my mouth for a minute to kinda warm it up. But it still tasted good!! I also had to mushify the Jello before I swallowed it. I only had my surgery Friday so I'm sure that it will get better as I heal more. Good luck to you!!!!! tracysmile 0 Posted September 25, 2008 Becky, I am so happy to hear that I am not the only one with gulping issues! I had my surgery on the 16th of Sep. I too found that hot (tempid) liquds go down easier...........Good Luck to you as well! Tracy
