Bobbie155 0 Posted November 16, 2008 jorja78, I agree that is why I started on clear liquid today. I needed to realize that every person's body is different and just becasue my friend is eating chili doesn't mean that I can. I feel much better today already. One problem that i have is my port area is so sore!!! It feels like I have a knife in my stomach everytime I move! Mornings are horrible...I have drained my daughters Childrens Tylenol bottles . TLBC only gave me a prescription for Demerol which doesnt even take the pain away..it just makes you sleep!! Its great for someone who doesnt have a life and has no children!!. I was scared the other night when i developed a 100.5 temperature! I was terrified that it was an infection but thanksfully just the flu! But I still feel wiped out.:w00t:

Any special Bathign instructions. I had soem restrictions when I had my gallblader taken out. I was only allowed a 5 min. shower he didn't want areas to get wet and have tape fall off. jmegirl 2 Posted November 17, 2008 Any special Bathign instructions. I had soem restrictions when I had my gallblader taken out. I was only allowed a 5 min. shower he didn't want areas to get wet and have tape fall off. I had no bathing restrictions post-op other than to avoid baths for 6 weeks. I could shower with no problems. The dressing he used for my incision sites was some kind of clear bandage that was extremely sticky, and he said they would stay put for a week until I had to take them off. But if I washed my tummy with soap, try not to wash too much in that area, because he didn't want the edges of the bandages curling up...then they might not stay on the full week. I had no problems with this though, my bandages stayed on 10 days before I finally had the guts to peel them off. And boy oh boy, how pleased I am to see how much they've healed! I swear, I've had cat scratches that look worse after 10 days than these incisions do! :smile2:

658 0 Posted November 17, 2008 11/24/08 at 0730 at Vanderbilt Hospital. I am now on the pre-surgery diet of Carnation Instant Breakfast. I did have an episode this morning where my blood sugar dropped to 52. Has anyone else had this problem?

I was first, and they got me back there and my surgery was right on time! If you're later in the day, they inevitably start running behind, and then you're waiting in the waiting room forever for them to call your name...that's when the nerves really kick in, haha. Good luck!!!!
