1GirlNamedTiff 0 Posted September 17, 2008 I use the New whey Protein bullets to make Jello for Snacks to help with Protein intake. There is a lot of controversy on this site about this so i am not here to stir anything up i just wanted to post a breakdown of the ingredients so that everyone can make the decision for themselves. Please no lectures or arguments this is just informational for everyone. . Ingredients: Pure deionized water: Good. Actinase (patent pending blend of enzymatically hydrolyzed (predigested) collagenic protein isolate):It is all natural, hypoallergenic, both acid and alkaline stable, and complete. Actinase also stimulates the body’s metabolism and caloric burn rate. Whey protein isolate: Highest yield of protein avaialable. Immune boosting properties. Contains less lactose. Casein protein isolate: Certain people should avoid Malic acid:medicine used to clean and get the surface of a tooth ready before it is filled. It can also be used to peel the skin (usually the face) and to treat muscle or bone pain. Side Effects: Stop taking your medicine right away and talk to your doctor if you have any of the following side effects. Your medicine may be causing these symptoms which may mean you are allergic to it. Breathing problems or tightness in your throat or chest Chest pain Skin hives, rash, or itchy or swollen skin Myovol™l Complex (proprietary blend of leucine, valine, and isoluceine): Leucine: Essential Amino Acid. Leucine has been found to slow the degradation of muscle tissue by increasing the synthesis of muscle Proteins. Leucine is utilized in the liver, adipose tissue, and muscle tissue. In adipose and muscle tissue, leucine is used in the formation of sterols, and the combined usage of leucine in these two tissues is seven times greater than its use in the liver. Valine: One of the nine essential amino acids that's a major player in the growth and maintenance of body tissues (it's found primarily in fibrous animal proteins). Shortfalls of valine have produced loss of muscular coordination in lab rats as well as hypersensitivity to pain, heat and cold. Valine is an amino acid some infants can't metabolize. This metabolic disorder produces a condition called maple Syrup urine disease (see Isoleucine). Isoluceine: One of the nine essential amino acids. It's found in all foods that contain complete protein (meat, poultry, fish, eggs, milk and dairy products). The body's inability to metabolize isoleucine (as well as leucine and valine, two other amino acids) causes maple syrup urine disease, so named because of the sweet smell of the urine. It is a genetic disease showing up in newborns, with symptoms appearing within four or five days. The babies refuse to feed, become lethargic and may vomit. Failure to treat the condition can lead to seizures, coma and death. Although this rare metabolic defect isn't fully understood, doctors are able to treat it. All natural flavors: Always good. Aacesulfame-potassium:also known as Acesulfame K or just Ace-K—is a calorie-free sweetener used in more than 5,000 food, beverage and pharmaceutical products in over 100 countries around the world. It is 200 times sweeter than sugar. Helps health and weight conscious consumers who are looking to reduce unnecessary calories in foods and beverages. Acesulfame Potassium is frequently found in combination with other non-caloric or caloric sweeteners. Does not promote tooth decay and is also suitable for people with diabetes. In the past 30 to 40 years, almost 100 studies have been conducted on the safety of Acesulfame Potassium. They have consistently shown that this sweetener is safe and suitable for human consumption. Discovered in 1967 by Hoechst scientists in Frankfurt, Germany, it has been used in food and beverages since 1983 and is approved in more than 100 countries around the world. Sucralose: Sucralose is the low-calorie sweetener made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar. It is about 600 times sweeter than sugar and can be used in place of sugar to eliminate or reduce calories in a wide variety of products, including beverages, baked goods, Desserts, dairy products, canned fruits, syrups and Condiments.< /span> Sucralose has an excellent safety profile. More than 100 scientific studies conducted over a 20-year period demonstrate that sucralose is safe for use as a sweetening ingredient. The data from the studies were independently evaluated by international experts in a variety of scientific disciplines, including toxicology, oncology, teratology, neurology, hematology, pediatrics and nutrition. Importantly, comprehensive toxicology studies, designed to meet the highest scientific standards, have clearly demonstrated that sucralose is not carcinogenic. Blue 1 and Red 40: Blue 1 = Avoid. Unsafe in amounts consumed or is very poorly tested. Red 40 = Caution. May pose a risk and needs to be better tested. CONTAINS NO PRESERVATIVES: Always best. ShrinkyDink 0 Posted September 21, 2008 I don't want to hijack your thread, but I hadn't heard of any controversy, could somebody point me to where I can read it please? I use these when the day is coming to an end and I'm short on Protein, had no idea there was any reason not to.
audreym 0 Posted September 21, 2008 Use them - Really like them - taste good - quick easy source of extra protien!! AND ..... I'm down 33 pounds (Yipeee!) What more could I ask!!
AirKuhl 1 Posted September 23, 2008 My Breakfast every day: 1 cup coffee, black, no sugar. 1 Centrum chewable Vitamin. 1 of what my wife calls the "magic marital aid o' protein". I like the fruit punch flavor, definitely the best of the bunch. I order online as well as it's much cheaper. 42g of Protein in one or two sips is great. Basically, I take care of most of my nutritional needs in a few minutes in the morning, so the rest of the day is less stressful.

*slim* 2 Posted September 23, 2008 Where do you get these Protein bullets? Please post the stores or the websites, I cant wait to try them. Oh, has anyone heard anything about the body not being able to process more than 30 grams of Protein at one time? Just wondering...thanks in advance! I have heard that the body can only process so much protein at one time. What I have been doing with my bullets is mixing half of the bullet with crystal lite. I bought the fruit punch flavor also. I have the orange, but I haven't tried it yet.
aprilapple 1 Posted September 23, 2008 I think that this may be just what I need. Are there any risks or cons?
*slim* 2 Posted September 23, 2008 I think that this may be just what I need. Are there any risks or cons? The only thing I don't like is it has a slight aftertaste. The after taste tastes like what some cardboard smells like. I promise I haven't been licking cardboard, but I swear that is what is seems like. I don't know if it is because I didn't have it cold enough, or if it was too much Protein at one time. They taste really good going down.
1GirlNamedTiff 0 Posted September 23, 2008 I get them at GNC, just make sure you get the ones with 40+ grams of Protein.< /p>
ShrinkyDink 0 Posted September 23, 2008 They taste like too strong koolaid to me, kind of overly sweet and thick but not bad. The 45 gram type are from GNC, but Walmart has a type with 23 grams. Those from GNC are more expensive than the WalMart ones, but if you're only going to drink half of it at a time they are cheaper per dose. And I did read somewhere that the body can only absorb about 20 grams at a time, haven't asked my doctor about it though.
crzytchr 3 Posted September 23, 2008 If you have a GNC gold card they are $30 for a case of 12 during the bonus week.
*slim* 2 Posted September 23, 2008 I paid right under $28 for 12 online at Vitamins, Nutritional & Weight Loss supplements | Discount Bodybuilding Supplements. I found that cheaper than paying for the GNC gold card. I don't go there often enough to buy it (the gold card).
aculberg 0 Posted September 23, 2008 Thanks so much for the info you guys! I have been trying to drink those Isopure Water type drinks, and those have 40 grams of Protein but thats for the whole bottle, which is huge and hard to get down!
