Hello,

Witht the first fill you wont feel much restriction. You usually dont feel alot until the 3rd or 4th fill depending on the size of your band. Most doctors will only do a fill ever 4-6 wks depending on the patient. I doubt if he will another fill since you just had one. My doctor sets up an appt with me for every 4 wks to weigh in and for fill if needed. good luck on your journey

Don't wait, just call so that they can put you on the schedule. They may say they won't see you for two weeks or a month, but at least you can get your fill appointment on the books.< /p>

I just had my first fill today. My dr told me to wait 6 weeks. My first fill is free, due to my insurance, technically I cant have a fill untill three months after the day of my surgery.

Just something to look into. Good luck.

I am always told to wait a week.

I've had three adjusments and FINALLY now feel like I have restriction. I'm actully debating weather or not I want to go just a smidge tighter. I'm going to give it another week and see how much I've lost total over the past three weeks and then decide.

My doc makes you wait a week before having anoter fill. He's pretty good about making sure that everyone has proper restriction. he's not all about playing the waiting game!

I felt the same thing my first fill. I had my second fill last Wednesday and I only felt a little restriction. THEN THIS MORNING, I FINALLY FELT TRUE RESTRITION.....YIKES! I was rushing to get out the door this morning and I heated up a piece of meatloaf from last night's dinner. I woofed down my last 2 bites and left the house. No sooner did I get in my car and the pain started. My chest was SOO tight! Meanwhile, I still had food in my mouth, but I knew I would surely kill myself if I swallowed it. So, here I am, driving about 3 miles or so, sitting as far forward as I can cause of the tightness in my chest and chipmunk cheeks full of meatloaf, then my mouth starts watering (I think that is what they call sliming???), but i don't have room in my mouth for more stuff. So, I take a short cut through a quiet neighborhood. I had to pull over and spit the food out of my mouth. I sat there for a few seconds then the PB's (producing burps) started. HOLY HELL! I had to pull over 3 different times. Sorry for the graphics :))

Needless to say, I cut up my chicken for lunch in teeny tiny baby bites.....I was okay.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I actually think I need to be filled one more time. This morning's incident was due to me inhaling my food.

Good luck and know that you are not alone.

Jane

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
