gadgetlady 4 Posted October 14, 2008 I haven't seen any of the Republican candidates address this idiocy of "fairness". Biden froths at the mouth saying, re: taxing people who make over $250k/year, "I call that fair". Obama talks about "fairness" in raising taxes on people he, in his infinite wisdom, classifies as "rich." Why the hell is it FAIR to ever take someone's money away just because you think it is? SInce when is it OK to decide that someone doesn't deserve what they've earned?
missy4gordon 0 Posted October 14, 2008 I can't remember when, where, or to whom he said it, but Biden also said it is "patriotic". WTH???
gadgetlady 4 Posted October 14, 2008 Yup, I heard that, too. If YOU want to be patriotic with your money, go for it. But don't STEAL my money and tell me you're doing it "for the greater good", "to be patriotic", or "because it's fair". It's just plain theft, redistribution of wealth, and socialism. The question of how much money someone needs to have to be called "rich" (in order to determine how much they get taken away from them) shouldn't be answered with a numerical response. It should be answered, "None of your damn business."

Donna113 2 Posted October 15, 2008 Regardles of your political views, you have to admit they were very good.
clusk 0 Posted October 16, 2008 OK this is rich. Anyone who watched the debate last night or TV this morning know who Joe the Plumber is. You know the plumber who does not like Obama's tax plan because it would hurt his future plumbing buisness. Well here are a few facts about Joe the Plumber that McCain could not stop talking about last night: Joe has not plumbing license He has a tax lien against him He is a register republican (although he says he does not know who he will vote for) He has had more press conferences then Palin John McCain sure can pick them. Coffi 0 Posted October 16, 2008 Most of my views are conservative...accidentally voted for Bush. Voting for Obama for sure this time. Have any of you even watched any of the debates? LOL! Why does McCain always try to twist Obama's words. I am so glad that Obama always gets in the corrections. Listen to what the candidates say themselves. Listen! McCain is constantly saying to all that Obama wants to raise your taxes. How many of you on this forum make a quarter of a milllion dollars a year? 80 percent of us have suffered from this down economy. Not to mention Palin. Did anyone see the Katie Couric interview? Pretty sad!
pattygreen 5 Posted October 18, 2008 Hi, I'm jumping in on this chat, and i haven't read all the back threads, but the topic ? interested me. I am voting for mcCain because between the two we have to choose from, He is the one who values life. If you think that it is ok to kill a living human being in the womb, what make me think you care at all about preschoolers and their education or Joe the plumber? Obama supports abortion choice, and did not vote against partial birth abortions either. And all he talks about is $pending more money. $pend! $pend! $pend! Where is he going to get the money to give teachers higher pay? He wants to take from the rich and give to the poor. Like he said, Exxon has plenty. Whatever happened to free enterprise? I'm not rich by any means, but if you go to school, sacrifice, work hard, and become successful, why should you have to pay more? Taxes should be equal around the board for everyone. He says for every new program he starts, he will make sure he ends one that is useless. How does that save us money? Instead he should end all the useless, costly programs and not start up any new ones. (look at all the money he spent on his campaign! it's sickening!) McCain knows how to save us money. He has experience with that. Spending freezes and eliminating programs is a priority! I know how to budget my family income. If I had a housecleaner coming once a week and could no longer afford her, I would fire her before I went out and got a second job to pay her salary. I might have to stop eating out so much and get rid of cable. (it's not a NEED, it's a WANT) Any Jerk can budget their spending, but their moral character is what I feel really matters. Sara Palin is a woman with good, clean virtue. She is a wife and mother and a governor and she is a Christian woman with high moral standards that I can respect. These are the kinds of people I want at the White House. Believe me, neither of those 2 candidates were my pick (I wanted Huckabee) but we have to choose the lesser of the two evils. They both lie concerning their promises, (They want to get elected!) So, let's choose the ones who feel that marriage should be between one man and one woman and the ones who feel unborn human lives are worth saving.(at least they have some form of moral code.)
