Boo Boo Kitty 3 Posted September 16, 2008 Hey all you gardners (I am not) I have a new lilac tree that is blooming RIGHT NOW! Everyone tells me that there is no way that it is, but I have proof! It is beginning full bloom again. Is there something that I did and is it going to hurt it? What do I do now? Thanks!
Lisa B 0 Posted September 16, 2008 It won't hurt it. There are some varieties of lilac that do bloom more than once, so it could be naturally occuring - altho if you've never had this happen to this bush before I'd be surprised if it were that variety. Chalk it up to our strange weather patterns this year and enjoy it! You might want to feed it to make sure it doesn't burn out all nutrients before winter. I'm not sure what kind of food lilacs want, but I'm sure google will tell you! Enjoy it, cut some blooms to bring inside, and I'm very jealous!
Boo Boo Kitty 3 Posted September 17, 2008 Thanks Lisa. The tree is rather young, I have only had it 1 year, so maybe it is a special one. I will be cutting the blooms an enjoying them. They are my favorite flower and I need them right now, they make me smile!
