Ravenesqued 0 Posted September 16, 2008 I am freaking out. I am 6 days post-op (9/10) and have been taking care of myself and wearing my binding. Well this morning I noticed 2 little drops of pus or blood on my binding. I have the liquid stitches so I can see my scars and am scared that it is the start of an infection at the port site. ARGH!! Nervous and super scared of corrosion. Have any of you used antibiotics or mercurochrome (Sp?). I have left a message to the P.A. and just waiting but I am wigging!! MistyD65 1 Posted September 16, 2008 Hope you hear from you PA soon. What kind of binding are you having to wear? I only had 4 little incisions with the liquid bandages and my port incision with liquid bandage and steristrips. And looking at your avatar, I have to ask...are you a Duranie? I am! gummykandi 20 Posted September 16, 2008 Does your port area feel warmer that the rest of your stomach/incisions and if there is any red/inflamed skin around that area I would be worried, otherwise, its just a little leakage, I had a lot the first few says, and I have the liquid suture too. Ravenesqued 0 Posted September 16, 2008 Yes, I love Duran Duran!! on the top of my 80's list along with New Order, ABC and Echo. Okay back to the situation. I also have the liquid bandages on and it seems to be in place but the drops are cause for concern for me. I work at a college and will be going to the health center at lunch time for some antibiotic liquid. I know I am healing because it itches like crazy sometime. NO pain at all and no fever. I think I should have had the steristrip as well. Thank you.
Ravenesqued 0 Posted September 16, 2008 I forgot to mention my binding. Its a large elastic belt wrapped around me to keep the incisions in place - I guess? Did you not have one?
gummykandi 20 Posted September 16, 2008 I did not ever have a bandage other than the steristrips
MistyD65 1 Posted September 16, 2008 Nope, no binding for me. I don't recall ever hearing anyone else mention having one after Banding, but it might not be a bad idea. I didn't have any trouble at all with my incisions, aside from them really itching as they wre healing. My avatar pic is from one of the happiest and most exciting times of my life...meeting Simon Le Bon in Las Vegas in 2005. That was my motivation for losing 40 pounds at the time. Kept it off for 2 years, then it piled back on. THAT was my motivation for finally considering and having Lap Band.
