minime890 0 Posted September 16, 2008 I have been considering weight loss surgery for several months now but I am so nervous.I have made so many attempts to loose weight before. This would have to be a last ditch attempt to get healthy. Four years ago I lost 50kg and had a Tummy Tuck and I have now hit a wall.I'm finding it really hard to move forward, and I find that I am relearning the bad habits of the past. I wonder if my worries are all just a part of the process or weather I am making a huge mistake. I wont to do this so badly. Jackie.
allymb22282 0 Posted September 16, 2008 Jackie, I too went back and forth deciding if Lap Band was right for me. But after a year of serious consideration and hard-core research I decided to go ahead with it. My insurance does not cover lap band so I had to look at it as an investment into my healthy future. No one can tell you that lap band is right for you... only you can decide. But for myself... the benefits FAR out weighed the cost/pain/fears etc. Hope that helps Allyson
kaytiebugs 0 Posted September 16, 2008 I thought about it for 4 months before I finally started going to seminars. I tried dieting/exercising one last time... I needed a reminder of how IMPOSSIBLE weight loss is for me. After that last failed attempt, I started going to seminars. Maybe you should give diet/exercise one last shot, and if it doesn't work out then you can revisit the weight loss surgery thought. :-)
yourowndestiney 3 Posted September 17, 2008 Wow... It's hard to believe that six months ago I was in the same place that you are. I am so glad that I made the choice to have lap band surgery. Like you... I tried what seemed to be every weight loss strategy that came along. I was successful for a little while and then I would get stressed and put it all back on and then some. I am 30 years old and it felt like life was passing me by. The lap band will not solve all your problems, but it will help you make better choices. Instead of eating my way through problems I have developed new ways to cope. I wish you luck in your journey and know that you will make the decision that is right for you.
