What kind of scale do you use ?

Recommended Posts

The one thing we all have in common is our good friend or enemy, the bathroom scale.< /p>

I have been through many scales through my years and have never really gotten one that I like until now.

years ago I bought a couple of digital scales which worked for a while and then seemed to go crazy on me. I would get on the scale five times in a row and get five different readings.

I also tried a few spring scales. At my age with not perfect eyesight, it was difficult to read the numbers. Also I found that with a degree of

" body english ", I could make the scale read different numbers. If I leaned forward, my weight would be less. If I really wanted to beat myself up, I would lean a little back and the weight would go up. Down deep I knew I was fooling no one but myself.

With my lap band surgery in a few months, I wanted a scale that would be honest and one that I couldn't fudge the numbers. I bought a high quality weight beam scale, the kind the Doctors use in their offices.

The numbers are eye level and easy to read and the results are honest.

The scale reads my weight by the ounce, so if I only lose an ounce one day, I will know it and can Celebrate the success however small.

I would be interested to hear the scale stories of others and about the scales they use.

Tom

I have a Tanita HD 351 I love it. Tanita is a well known high quality scale...it's the brand my surgeon uses (although his costs around 5k!) and the brand WW often uses in their centers. It is digital but weighs consistently and correctly. Any scale by Tanita is a good well made reliable scale.

Digital scales go funky on me as well. I don't use them anymore. I have a cheap scale with the revolving wheel . . . I like it because it is accurate and I just make a point to stand on it the same way every time. I know I can use body english . . . but I don't bother.

My backup is the bar scale at the gym. It is my "official" weight that I report. It is always 2 pounds higher than my home scale, but what the hay . . . as long as they are bothing moving DOWN in the right direction I am a happy camper.

I have a "Jenny Craig" digital scale that I bought about 4 years ago, one of the many times I was on their program. It is within a 1/2 pound of my doctor. It is not too bad.

I agree 100% with Tanita as a choice for scales we have the BC-554 model at home and it's great. My surgeon uses this brand too.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
