Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

would you/could you wear a bikini??

Recommended Posts

I doubt even if I get to goal I could wear a bikini unless I get some major reconstructive surgery... but I'm only 31! I might be able to swing it for a few more years!

What about you??

I could swing it with shorts, but I don't think I would. I like one pieces because of the extra control it provides.

I'm 44 and the most I would do is a tankini; and that's pushing it.

When I reach goal .......HELL YEAH!!!! (and I'm nearly 40 - why not)!

Going to Spain in 10 days so in the meantime I've got myself some tankinis.

Yep, for sure, at 41.

Look, I dont look "perfect". You can tell I've had a couple of babies and lost a fair bit of weight. I'm not the most gorgeous bod on the beach. But nobody has puked yet either.

But a bikini actually is more slimming on me than a one piece because I'm a bit long legged/short bodied and the break in the middle and expanse of skin balances me out and it makes my boobs look a LOT better too.

But I cant just buy any bikini. It needs to be one cut for a "fuller" figure (at size 10, go figure). But definitely no triangle tops/string sides, ugh.

Heck yeah!!!!!! If I were at my goal and got into one, I would be so happy you couldn't get it off me. I would even wear it to the grocery store in winter!!!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
