Weight vs Inches

Recommended Posts

I'm realising that while I'm only slowly losing the first, I'm doing well in losing the second.

I have been a little bit bummed that I haven't been losing a kilo a week (2lbs) but this morning, I got the tape measure out, and for the first time since in 8 years, my waist in less than 40 inches! I've lost almost 10 inches in my waist from the start of my journey, and that's amazing to me.

So I've decided not to weigh myself obessively any more. I will only weigh myself on the 1st of each month (seeing as I banded on the 1st of August). I think the inches are telling the most truth about the exercise and healthy eating I'm doing, and I'm not going to get depressed over another kilo again!

I hear ya! I was getting depressed when I would get on the scale and lose nothing but my new capris that i just bought which were tight are sooo loose now.. I was becoming obsessive with the scale.. trying to break the bad habit. I weigh on my wii fit and it shows your progress and when i see that I realize how much weight i really have lost. It's hard to see on a daily basis.. good luck

I'm glad to hear that someone else is finding the same. I think I may actually get rid of my weight loss ticker for now too, and just type the numbers in my signature instead.

I have that same issue. I seem to loose the weight slowly, but yet some of my clothes just don't fit anymore. That is my mission for today, to go through my closet and find new clothes!! The way the clothes fit is a much better gauge for my loss than the scale!

You've been exercising well though Lellow and are likely putting on muscle (and we all know the saying muscle weighs more than fat!) which long term you'll be happy about I'm sure!!

Plus the fact that you started out with a lower BMI means you'll likely not lose as much as time goes on.
