keeping optimum hydration

hey guys, i was banded almost 5 months ago, and i have had three fills. The last one was about 2 or 3 weeks ago. Although i am happy with the portion sizes i now eat, and do not feel i am missing out (dont have much of an appetite anyway) i do find it extremely hard to drink 2 litres a of Fluid a day. In the mornings i am simply too tight to drink more than a few small sips. Some days are better than others, and i hate to admit it, but there have been a few days where i probably drank no more than 400 ml of fluid. I know this is not good at all and im feeling it. i am so thirsty and tired even though ive had adequate sleep. I just cannot get fluid down me.

Please help. summer is coming up here in australia and i dont want to faint of dehydration.

i try and sip slowly during the day but even when doing this my sips are so tiny i dont get much down, and if i try and go any quicker it all comes back up.

is my band too tight?

I would say your band is to tite, I down 150oz of Water a day no problem but I have not had a fill, I just ahd my one month check up and after the doc seeing my weight loss and talking about my eathing he thought it best not to do a fill.

I have what I think is good restriction but have no issues with water.

if your band is so tight that you cannot drink, then you surely are not getting adequate nutrition either. Don't mess with your health that way. Go get some saline removed from your band, pronto!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
