Does anyone have tattoos who have lost a bit of weight so far? I was continplating getting one but I still have 27 pounds to lose. I don't want it to mess up my first tattoo because what I want is very meaningful. I want to get a wrench with the name Basore in it in honor of my grandpa who passed. He was like my father and I've wanted this tattoo since I was 10 (he died when I was 8).

Can anyone tell me their experiences with it?

Hollie I don't have a tat but judging from what I've learned on the Weight Watcher 200+ board, 27 pounds won't mess you up. If you're pretty firm now, you will be then, too. If you are saggy (and I think you're probably too young to be saggy! but just in case) you might want to give it another year or so...

From past experience 27lbs won't effect much. Of course a piece of advice would be to get the tattoo on the parts of your body that don't fluctuate as much like your shoulder, calf, lower arm, mid or lower back.

See that where I wanted it. To start from my ankle bone and go up. My legs were like the first real noticable thing that shrunk. And I do have a little bit of sagging skin in my stomach, my arms and my thighs. Not too bad that it won't eventually tighten. Still makes me cry though lol But my surgeon has reassured me several times that it will tighten with the exercise that I am doing. He just said drink A LOT of Water. Now the hard part is finding the right artist I want to do it. This tattoo is super personal and i don't want just anyone working on it. So any good suggestions in San Diego?

I have 3 tattoos.. one on ankle(heart), breast(squirrell) and wrist (cross). I have lost 50 and they look the same. You will be fine especially on your leg. I didn't have any until my 30th birthday and now I am addicted. Mine are all very personal to me and I treasure each one of them. I think it's wonderful you getting something in honor of your grandpa. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
