Anyone get reimbursed after paying out of pocket?

Recommended Posts

I have Cigna with a 36/37 BMI and I am on my 3rd appeal. My Primary Care Physician who is studying to be a fill doc in Smithtown, NY told me she has many patients who were turned down by their ins co only to be reimbursed after they paid out of pocket.

Anyone have this experience?

I do know a lot of people have mentioned submitting to their insurance co's and being reimbursed at least partially. Good luck!

I wouldn't assume that it will work that way. Insurance companies really do not want to pay if they don't have to, it is the nature of the business and they are there to make money just like the rest of us. A lot of insurance companies can deny because you were not pre-authorized for the procedure, regardless of whether they would have given final authorization down the road. It may happen for some people, but I am sure that is the exception rather than the rule.

Read your insurance policy, talk to them, gain as much information as you can beforehand and then choose your best route.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
