hoping to be banded in November , anyone from Montreal ?

Recommended Posts

hi everyone ,

As most of the people here i have been struggling with weight all my life , and it seems the more i try to loose the more i gain and the more desperate i become to loose and do drastic measures to loose weight. So i have decided to do the lap band surgery and hopefully this tool will give me the assistance i need to keep the weight off for good and finally be in control ....

I live in Montreal Canada and was wondering if there are any fellow Montrealers here who have done it or are thinking of doing it ....

I have decided after much research to try to be banded overseas as the cost of the surgery is much more reasonable , i spoke to a few people on the site who have been very helpful with information .....

love to hear stories of anyone who did their surgery in Belgium .....

Hello,

I'm being banded on Nov. 18th in Montreal. I went through the public health card and will be paying 5,100. and only had to wait 2 1/2 months. When I went in for my first visit (sept) they told me it would be about 7 months, but I was called only a few weeks later with my date. If you have the health card in Quebec, I would check it out before going overseas. Everything is covered here but the band itself, which is the 5,100 cost. Good luck! If you have other questions please let me know.

Nadalee

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
