MiniBand 0 Posted September 12, 2008 Hello, My insurance sent my stuff in the middle of July. I have been calling to find out what the hold up is. I am assuming it can't mean anything good to wait this long. I had posted about this a while ago... I have Horizon BCBS PPO and it went to the medical director a week ago whatever that means. I do have TT2 diabetes, GERD, high lipids (metabolic syndrome), depression, infertility and pre-hypertension. All those are documented. My BMI is somewhere between 36 and 38. Is waiting long a bad sign? Thanks, M
kdlee 0 Posted September 12, 2008 I have Anthem BCBS PPO and it took about 3 weeks to get my first notice back and it was denied because the Dr's office didn't send in all of the paperwork. After they resubmitted the correct paperwork, it took 3 days. I would say the hold up for you is that your BMI is less than 40 and it must go to physician review at the insurance company. This can take a while because they have so many cases to review. Just keep calling the insurance company everyday to check on it. That's what I did. Good luck!
