Emotional Changes

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I had the Lap Band surgery done on July 16th. I lost

11lbs before the surgery and I 6lbs

the first time I went for my appt. I

lost 8lbs the next visit. So as of 3wks ago I lost 25lbs. I had to stop into the Dr.'s office to take care of some business and I weighed myself. I gained 2lbs. It was the end of the day. I am having alot of anxiety after I eat. I notice that I can eat more now. I can eat normal portions of food (ex: a whole sandwich). I am going for my first fill tommorrow and I am told that the amount of food I will be able to eat will be less. I see how addictive I am with food. That feeling I had in the beginning is gone. Has anyone felt these feelings?:)

You are not alone.. i promise!!!

You are in what they call bandster hell....we have all been there...

basically the band isnt supposed to have its full efect until you hit that sweet spot...Where you get those fills you are working your way towards that... Think of any weight loss you have before hitting that sweet spot as a bonus....

But hang in there....

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
