Submitting 6 mo diet..Affraid they won't accept it

Recommended Posts

 I have BCBS of Minnisota. I went to PCP 03/03/08, 04/17/08, 07/02/08, 07/31/08, 08/28/08, 09/10/08. Thats 6 times in 6 months but not once a month. I changed my mind in May and didn't change it back til the end of June. It was too late then to get in during June. Thats why I have two July dates. Hopefully they will count 07/02/08 as June sort of. May is just missing. Do you think they will deny me. It is being submitted Friday to insurance. My surgeons office said ins takes 4 to 6 weeks to get approval. That seems way longer than anyone on here says. Any of you have experience with missed apts during 6 month diet or with BCBS Minnisota?

:scared2:

Hi there,

I didn't have BCBS, I had Cigna but my original dates were similar to yours I hate to tell you this, they would not accept them. I had to go for the entire 6 consecutive months. I have faith you can get through those months w/ grace and move to the next phase.

Best of luck.

Ks

if you go back to more months around the same time you might be able to use the last 4 months make a appt for around a month from your last one just incase they don't accept it that way you can resubmit in 2 months and have 6 consecutive months

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
