Hello:

Anyone mind sharing the total cost of your self-pay lapband?

Who performed the procedure?

Thank you in advance

I had mine done this week at St. Alexius in Hoffman Estates.

Dr. Rantis of Suburban Surgical in Elk Grove.

$17,500 all in - surgeon, pre-op testing, hospital stay.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for the info & CONGRATS on being Banded!! How are you doing today?

Also, since you were self-pay... was it a quick process? How long did you have to wait for a date, etc.

I'm feeling ok - soreness isn't too bad. Incisions are a little sore.

I'm a little off I think due to lack of calories.

Hard to go from 3000+ to 700....

The process was fairly quick - about 5 weeks from start to finish.

I am hoping that you are feeling much better very soon.

How long do you plan to be off from work?

---------------

I'm all set with Dr. K in Colorado - but, today I have been searching websites trying to get local prices and to get banded even sooner.

I appreciate your info.

I'm in technology consulting sales, so much of my work can be done via phone and email.

I'll be back in front of customers Wednesday after my first post-op appointment.

How much is your procedure in CO?

That's not bad.

Does that include all the pre-op testing?

Yes, pre-op is included with 3 months of fills - $15 fills after 3 months. Thing is, I'll travel back to Colorado for my fills or, TRY to find someone to them locally. So far - no luck with that.

So... this weekend, I'm really considering going local and paying more. I cannot NOT do this. This is just not an option. So, I'm getting ready to post a couple of more messages asking for prices locally. I do have 4 prices here so far.

Actually found a couple good prices - just need to know if they will accept my financing option that I already have set up.

RightWeigh Bariatric in Indiana charges $12,500 (oops, this is the cost in the KY center of RightWeigh)

Lifeway Bariatrics in Downers Grove & Merriville, IN charge $15,500.

Methodist Weight Loss Center in Peoria (2 1/2 hrs away from me) $12,000

If these places accept my financing and can do it sooner, I'm going to make the switch this week.

NFaith, I've read from another post that Dr Watkins at Synchrony Health in Oakbrook will fill patients that were banded elsewhere for $95.00 I dont know about the cost of the flouro. Dr. # is 630-990-2240.I thought of calling him myself. I'm also doing self-pay but I'm not getting banded until Feb. 09 'cause thats when Ill have the money. Im undecided if Im gonna get it done with Dr. Ortiz in Mexico or with Dr. K in Colorado either way I have to find a Dr. that will fill outside patients for a reasonable price and hopefully thats where Dr. Watkins comes in. Hope this Info helped,Good Luck!

Thank you so much for the info! I called Synchrony & was quoted at $95. and maybe $250 if fluro/xray is required. This is helpful, because I'm now scheduled to be banded in Detroit; Self-pay $10,700 w/Dr. Laker. I'm so excited - I was able to use my CareCredit card with a very low monthly rate.

I was previously scheduled for Dr. K on 10/29 - but the financing I was using got a bit complicated, so I cancelled. But his office is extremely nice, helpful and easy to deal with.

Good luck with your decision.

Thanks everyone for helping!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
