kaytiebugs 0 Posted September 9, 2008 Right now I have a couple of things I need to do before my info can be submitted to insurance (psych, dietician). At what point will they schedule my surgery? After my insurance approves? Also, when is the pre op appointment scheduled? Is it a day or two before surgery? Or a week? For some reason I recall something saying it would be no more than two weeks prior to surgery.
Jodi_620 37 Posted September 9, 2008 Mine scheduled my surgery and my pre-op visit the same day I was approved by insurance (I called them as soon as the letter arrived). My pre-op was 1 week before surgery.
IM_LORI 0 Posted September 9, 2008 These are questions for your doctor. They are all different. Some insurances approve quickly (1 week) some not, (1 year) Most doctors will NOT schedule it until your insurance approves it, or you pre-pay it yourself. I self-payed in Mexico. Called and got all the info on Monday, scheduled it on Friday, did all the pre-op testing in the morning I got there. Give your Dr. office a call and ask them how they proceed through the entire process. They probably have experience with approvals/denials with different types of insurance as well.
