tbenson 0 Posted September 8, 2008 I was banded over a year ago, lost 50 lbs. the first 8-9 months and have since gained back about 15. I've been getting really discouraged. I don't need a band fill, I can't keep much food down and don't overeat. But I have a cyst in my left knee that has kept me out of the gym. Now I'm back to the low stamina state. Any advice?
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted September 8, 2008 if you can't keep much food down, you should think about a tiny unfill. There have been so many people who start losing again when they do this. When we are tight, we tend to eat things that are easy, and they are not necessarily the best foods or lowest calorie foods. Also, if you can't keep food down you could be consuming not enough calories to keep losing.
HeatherO 7 Posted September 8, 2008 My first question would be what are you eating? If it is a lot of soft calories, it could be sabotaging your weight loss efforts. The first thing I would suggest is tracking your daily calories on something like fitday.com or a similar place. Make sure you track everything, and then you can analyze to see how much you are taking in on a daily basis. Many times we are ingesting more than we think. Exercise is sooo important as well. Are their some exercises you can do without straining your knee such as upper body or abdominal work? You may find that exercising actually increases your energy and stamina instead of taking it away.
GALapband 0 Posted September 8, 2008 I am right there with ya! I am post surgery 2 years this month. The first year I lost 60 pounds and was doing great. The second year I have gained around 15 pounds. I have been filled and unfilled and filled again. I am trying everything I know how to do and I am still not losing.
