How about Dr. Rambaut in Mexico?

Recommended Posts

I'm considering using Dr. Rambaut in Monterey. I've heard only good stuff about him except he's a little more expensive than some of the others. Has anyone had any bad experiences with him? Also, if I use him I'll need after care and fills in the Dallas area. Any suggestions. I need to know what the costs will be for these. Thanks, BCW

Hey BCW. Welcome to LBT! Several here have used this doc and he seems to have a good reputation, if I remeber correctly. They will show up here and give you their opinions, I'm sure.

If you want to find out stuff now, go up to the blue bar and hit Search. Then type in Rumbaut (not Rambaut) and you should find some threads with posts mentioning him.

Oh! Also, go to the Texas Forum and find threads about fill docs near Dallas. I think folks have been having a hard time finding aftercare there, but I'll bet someone has some ideas.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

I've used 6 Band surgeons (4 in Mexico, 1 in California, 1 in Vegas.) I had to go to Mexico three times and have two ports removed, so I've read nearly every post on these boards for support. After all I've been through, Dr. Rumbault would be my choice if I had to do it all over again. I've never met him, but I"m very impressed with his reputation.

Check with Surgery Center of Richardson about fills. I hear they are doing fills on folks banded elsewhere. I would much rather hear of you going there (where they actually DO banding) than some of the other opportunists who may take your money but don't necessarily know all they need to know about banding. just my 2 cents...

I am schedualed to go to Dr. Rumbuat. I have heard good things. I am wanting to find others who have seen him and hear about their experiences. Does anyone know of after care docs in Kansas City or Nebraska.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
