Looking for input! I had surgery July 31st and am getting my first fill on the 11th. I have noticed in the morning I am usually full fairly quickly but by 4 pm in the afternoon I am starving... I mean.... Watch out... nail down the food because I can't full until I have had more than I should! Does this happen to anyone else? Will this HOPEFULLY go away when I have some restriction. I feel like such a loser after being really good all day until that point of the day. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hello, this is a never ending guessing game. I had mine done two years ago. I stated out writing everything down, so I would know when I could eat, what I could eat, what would make me sick ect...All I know is, I don't get hungry in the mornings, I don't eat anything during the day (usually). If I do I usually throw up. There are some things I can eat just fine and other times the same thing will make me throw up. I have found that if my husband wants to go to dinner, we will go a couple days, or the day before if I calculate right, before my period starts. For some reason right before my period I can eat more than I should be able to, but if I were to try and eat the same amount after my period starts, forget it. I usually have to make myself throw up, I will be eating, slow and small bites, and I'll feel like it's in my throat and I get an instant headache, after I throw up it goes away. My frustration will this whole thing is it's been two years and I have only lost 65lbs. Although I don't exercise like I should and since I don't get hungry during the day, I always eat at night, and if it's been while since I have actually been able to eat anything good without throwing up, I find myself eating all the wrong things because I can, like chips and dip, popcorn or candy. I was hoping to to get on this site and find like buddy support. Well good look with your success.

Hey there. I got banded Aug 26th, just a couple weeks ago. I am also very hungry at night. I am trying to decide whether its actual hunger or head hunger. Either way, its hard to keep on track. I know I am not eating even a 1000 calories a day. In fact the first two weeks, I didnt even eat 600 a day but I think that is normal. Now that I am allowed to eat some somewhat normal foods I am finding that I am back to enjoying to eat again, which is NOT a good thing. I am also hoping that after my first fill which isnt until Oct 8th I will feel more full and restricted. Keep me posted about your progress.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
