lin2 0 Posted September 8, 2008 I had surgery in July and I still have an area that is VERY painful to touch or if I move in a certain way. It is right under the breast area so could be port or pouch related. I am scared to death that I may have stretched the pouch. I feel fine otherwise - no vomiting or pbs just pain in that area. Can anyone help me????? What are the symptoms of a stretched pouch?
kkris812 0 Posted September 8, 2008 I was at the dr. Friday and was told my pouch was enlarged. I have to be on liquids for 2 weeks and then be re-evaluated. I did not have any symptoms nor did they tell me what the symptoms would be. I was however vomiting but it wasn't the first time and the first time my pouch was not enlarged. That doesn't answer your question but I can tell you from experience that I do not have any symptoms. I would call your doctor, I do all the time even for what I think are dumb questions. JanetNBama 3 Posted September 8, 2008 From what I understand - it takes time for a pouch to stretch out. I was concerned about it after 6 months of my surgery and was told that it wouldn't be stretched that soon. I'm not a professional but this is what my surgeon told me. LiveLoveLaugh 0 Posted September 8, 2008 So there's really no sign of a stretched pouch? I worry about if mine is being stretched when I eat more than I really should. How does it realy get stretched? Eating too much to the point of hurting etc..... I mean there are days I can eat more or foods I can eat more of... Yet I don't eat until the point I'm in pain, I do feel full. Sometimes I do eat until that one bite that makes me super full yet no pain. I just know I'm done!! Can this cause a stretched pouch??? Anyone out there know more on this condition or advise they have been given from there doctor? I'd love to know more on this subject!! Thanks

What are the symptoms of a stretched pouch? I really think you must have restriction in order to stretch your pouch.Have you been filled yet?The pain may well be that you are still healing as we don't all heal the same. Stretched pouch would allow you to eat more than you should even with restriction, so I really do not think that is it at all.
