max052 0 Posted September 6, 2008 Hi Everyone, This is my first post so hopefully I'm doing this correctly. I just started my pre-op testing phase and my only concern right now is the psych eval. I'm not sure what to expect and what kind of questions they will ask. Can someone share their experience or provide some insight so I can walk in prepared for the appointment? Thanks! This site rocks!!!
jodibyland 0 Posted September 6, 2008 Hi...I'm fairly new to the site...I haven't been banded yet...hopefully in October. I think everybody's experience with the psych has been different it seems. As far as mine goes, it was one of those blacken in the oval space type of tests. I thought most of the questions were kind of silly but I guess they can determine alot about you by them. One of the questions I can remember is Do you like to sing? Now I wonder what that would tell them? After the test was finished, I came back to talk to a psychologist and talked over the results. I think they want to determine if you're mentally stable enough to know how to handle the surgery. Good luck to you!

This site rocks!!! It was a breeze. I filled out a questionare, then we pretty much just talked about my life and why I wanted Lap Band. In mine I got the idea they wanted to be sure you were not an alcoholic/drug abuser or suicidal, and that you wereready to commit. Don't worry about it, you will do fine.
