dbrengle 0 Posted September 6, 2008 I am 18 days post op and I was wondering if anyone has these issues, after I eat (regardless of what I eat) I belch numerous of times, and for some reason, when I go lay down at night to go to sleep, I cant lay on my left side. I have really bad sharp pains. I know my surgeon cut me there but only minor cuts and I cant figure out why I hurt so bad there. Anyway I am down 19 pounds since 08/27/08, not sure how much I am now, but Ill take what I can get....lol Have a great day.

dbrengle 0 Posted September 6, 2008 I understand I dont go back to my srugeon till 10/01/08 for my first fill, but if you talk to them about the pain in your sides, please let me know what they say. I am very curious to find out why I am hurting. Also how did you put your August allstars on your signature??
ThinknHealthy 0 Posted September 6, 2008 Regarding the belching. Get used to it. It will be part of your new normal. As you eat and drink, you ingest a certain amount of air. How you process that air is now different than before. I'm sure there is a medical explanation but it is the reason some rules include not using a straw, not gulping your Water, and especially not drinking carbonated beverages (I hear that's painful). God Bless!

crzytchr 3 Posted September 6, 2008 It was about 4 weeks before I could sleep on my side. As far as belching, I do that all the time now and very loudly.

snowbird 2 Posted September 7, 2008 After you get filled you may have hiccup problems. As for the pain, you just had surgery, people! Your insides were cut up and your abdominal muscles now have a foreign object stitched to them (your port.) It will take a few weeks of healing before all the pains go away, and you will still feel a pulling around your port from time to time if you twist and turn sharply. I don't have a belching problem, but my husband does. He also has the hiccups more than I do, usually from eating too fast or the wrong things. Welcome to bandland. dbrengle 0 Posted September 7, 2008 The thing is my port isnt on my left side its in the middle about 5 inches from my belly button. I thought that was a weird place for it to be, but thats where my surgeon put it. SO thats why I am totally confused on why my left side hurts.
