Made an appointment for the 8th October. We are flying to Melbourne that night so the small unfill might be a good idea for lots of reasons

Ok, haven't read the entire thread so apologies if my comment seems out of place, but if you are that hungry at the start of each meal, have you though of breaking it up a bit. Have half of it an hour earlier say, then the rest at the usual meal time?

Thats ounds good Nat. I had a similar problem to you and i got some taken out, then I had the opposite problem, i could eat too much:unsure:. I ended up choosing to be a little bit too tight than too lose. I have to eat really slowly and I too can't drink much within a couple of hours of eating. I do puke sometimes, especially when i am thirsty and need a big drink.

Dr Watson didn't seem too concerned and basically said it was my choice, but vomiting wasn't good and could cause problems, so i am taking it slow.

Apart from the problem at night I think I am at the perfect restriction. I asked Dr Watson what is my goal weight and he said I have already passed his goal because I have lost more than 60% of my excess weight so now I need to find out what I should be for my height and try and figure out how far I have to go and how I am going to keep it that way. I was so worried about making the band work and it did, now all I think about is can I sustain it forever. The mind of a reformed fatty never rests!!:ohmy:

Well done nat, you have done so well

Have you tried not eating a few hours before going to bed, maybe that will help with the chocking whiel sleeping?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
