secondseconds 0 Posted September 6, 2008 I had my first fill Thursday (surgery was 7/29). I had 2 cc in the band to start with, and my doctor added 2.5 cc, so now I have a total of 4.5 cc. I am feeling no restriction. My next appointment is in a month. Should I wait, or call them and ask if I can come in now for another fill? Thoughts?
RestlessMonkey 7 Posted September 6, 2008 I've heard that some docs tell their patients it can take up to 2 weeks or so to "feel" a fill. I know "aggressive" fills can aggravate esophageal problems like spasming etc (early bandsters had that WAY more than we do..and aggressive fills are the culprit) So knowing that if it were me (and I'm not a doc and didn't stay at a Holiday Inn express even) I would probably give it 3 weeks then try again,
ThinknHealthy 0 Posted September 6, 2008 It was a good 2 weeks after my first fill before I felt any restriction. I noticed it first when I couldn't finish a Subway 6" ham 'n cheese sandwich. It was like really cool. That's the first time I couldn't finish one. Fortunately they have those "Mini" subs that are 4". Now I'm still struggling with knowing when to stop eating. I've heard all the advise about stopping as soon as you feel a little full but I'm still adjusting to the feelings. I think I usually eat a little too much, wanting to take just a couple more bites. Just be patient. The restriction will come and you'll start understanding more what it is all about. I'm still new at this too. You're not far behind me. God Bless!
