Harley 105th in WI

Recommended Posts

Hey out there,

Was just wondering if anyone went to the 105th celebrations last week. DH and I trucked our bike up and rode around the area. We took some pics and when I can figure out how to add them, I will on here. We really had a great time.

Ride safe, D'

We live in Philly are but are HOG members. We could not make the 105 bash because of my surgery, but we did get married at the HOG rally in Tulsa OK on July 4th and we both worked at the PA HOG rally early august. Ride on!

KatsenD, we didn't go, but talked to a couple from here that went up there. They were gone 18 days and covered 4200+ miles. Said they had a fantastic time. Went up into Canada for a few days and came back down thru the Black Hills. They were at the local cafe eating supper. Hadn't even been home, yet. Both of them had smiles about as wide as the Mississippi river....LOL

Check with Ridin'MyHarleyDream, Carol, she was going up that way, too. Of course, she's a little crazy....She road a Sportster to Sturgis last year from SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS. And did I mention she has an Iron butt, too.....hehehe (love ya, carol)

Now Randy, you know I'm not crazy...well except about riding!

Yep, I rode there and back all by myself. A little over 3600 miles for the entire trip. Great rides, lots of great people along the way and in Milwaukee. Got to go to the museum and ride in the parade and see Bruce. Who could ask for anything more? Just added my pins to my vest tonight. MDA had a pin fund raiser. Looks really cool all together in one place.

In our other string Randy told me to go riding when Ike hit. Well, I'm riding tomorrow but we won't have any affects of it quite yet. Looks like we'll be okay.

And no, my butt's not Iron but my will is when it comes to going where I want to go. Longest day was 664 miles in 11 1/2 hours. Milwaukee to Memphis. I highly recommend leaving the trucks and trailers at home and just getting on the bike and going.

Some people say 'Ride it like you stole it'. I say 'Ride it like you own it'!

Peace

Carol

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
