slynclark 0 Posted September 5, 2008 I am meeting with my surgeon on Tuesday! I am so excited! What should I expect? Tests? Meeting with a nutritionist? What do you think!?
sistasassy 6 Posted September 5, 2008 I would think it will be an informational meeting and then he/she will figure out what tests you need for your insurance approval. If you are self pay then he will move on to the other tests. I would not expect to have any tests on the day of your meeting. How exciting! I remember my first meeting. I was so excited I was almost sick! I am just waiting to get my surgery date set now and my doc says I SHOULD be banded by the end of the month. Yipee! Good luck on your journey and be sure to read everything you can read here. There is a lot of good information at this site.
RestlessMonkey 7 Posted September 5, 2008 My initial meeting,....they took my vitals, took a thorough health history (including all the meds I'm taking...) and I met with my surgeon to discuss my health and what surgery I wanted. (my surgeon performs several different bariatric procedures; he did NOT pressure me to choose any special one) After reviewing my health history and current status he had me get a barium swallow test(some have to do sleep apnea studies, meet w/cardiologist, etc...all for your own good) and that was it! He answered whatever questions I had...but I had gone to the seminar he led and it was very informative so I didn't have many.
