I went to disneyland recently and as where I used to fit really snug in all the rides, this time I had lots of room and even slid across the seat on a few of the rides. And my spine hurt from hitting the seat backs all day, never had that happen before.

Wow. I guess that whole saying, "Cushion for the pushing" made sense.

I can't wait until I have: protuding bones, scabs, the chills, and bruises.

Sounds awesome.

(Actually...there is no sarcasm there. It's the little things that we can delight in when we're at/get to goal.)

"Look Ma! Bones!"

Hey Ladies,

I'm with Glou - can't wait until I have protruding bones, chills (well, I have those now), scabs and bruises...

I don't think I've seen my hipbones EVER...and though my legs seem to have fared well during my ups and downs with weight, I'll be glad to have some bones to rub together while sleeping:lol:

I'm also looking forward to the day when my booty sticks out further than my tummy! My husband always said I had 'junk in the trunk' but I can't tell because the padding in my tummy always catches my eye first!

I am finding that since being banded and losing almost all of my excess weight, my tail bone really aches. I notice it even more when I am sitting on the floor, or in the bathtub, or doing floor exercises. It is almost as if it had been cushioned for years by my genorous, pillowy tushy which has all but dissappeared.

Has anyone else experienced this??? Could it be that banding has become a big pain in my arse or do you think it is completely unrelated???

Amazingly enough, this has finally gone away. I think I just needed a few months to get used to changes in my personal padding, lol.

Ohhh, great laugh HeatherO. My son and I just had a great chuckle over this post.

About 7 years ago I lost about 70 lbs and I remember my tailbone and back hip bones hurt for a while. And, for maybe about a month when I lay down my front hip bones stuck out, so, when I slept on my stomach they hurt in the morning too.

...Alas that was the moment my reproductive system decided to work and well you know. Child number 2 came 9 months later.

LOL, I think we have a lot in common . . . I seem to be suffering from that affliction myself. :tongue2:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
