Alex Brecher 10,515 Posted September 4, 2008 I found the attached copy of a lawsuit online brought by Gary J. Viscio (an obesity attorney) against ObesityHelp.com . Does anybody have any more information about this suit ? It's really bizarre but I also heard that Gary Viscio just passed away! ViscioOHLawSuit.pdf

plain 12 Posted September 4, 2008 Looks to me like Viscio was pissed about not getting any advertising accomidations in return for his consulting work....As for the other allegations, like OH only wanting to generate revenue, libeling doctors, and discrediting / banning people because they disagree with the posts, all I can say is (in M. Night Shamalan voice as heard on Robot chicken) "What a twist!" Anybody surprised by the allegations against OH will also be shocked to hear of my lawsuit against the ocean being too salty. Gone4Now 4 Posted September 5, 2008 plain - is that a class-action suit? I'd like to throw my name in the hat, if so. My story, by Gloucester: Recently my DD and I planned a nice trip to the beach. We thought it would be a lovely summer day. Little did we know that the Water was CONTAMINATED. The salt in the Water stung my eyes, and caused my precious daughter's eyes to tear for several minutes. Where is the humanity in that? There was NO warning at the beach that the water would be salty, and I think that whomever is responsible should PAY. I was looking out for sharks. I had my dog on the leash. I had no open containers, and I did not litter. I read the riptide warnings. Nowhere was it mentioned that the water had SALT. Who knew?
ReadySteadyGo 8 Posted September 5, 2008 When my family went to the beach my little brother was stung by a jellyfish which I believe is a direct result from the salt in the Water. If their was no salt in the ocean then the jellyfish would not have stung my brother. I would like just compensation for the medical bills we would have had if we had taken him to the hospital and of course at least 200,000 for emotional distress. Candle 11 Posted September 7, 2008 I read on OH that he died recently. No mention of this suit but I guess OH wouldn't want that on their site.
MacMadame 81 Posted September 7, 2008 I couldn't make myself get through enough of the suit to figure out if it had merit or not. I've heard that the OH people went through a tough time where lots of bs behavior was going on and wonder if the suit was related to that.
three sixty six 1 Posted September 8, 2008 wow, thanks for posting the complaint. that's a good one! not the worst, but one of the most poorly-written complaints I've read in a while  sign me up for some of his legal expertise!
luluc 6 Posted September 8, 2008 wow, thanks for posting the complaint. that's a good one! not the worst, but one of the most poorly-written complaints I've read in a while  sign me up for some of his legal expertise! he has since passed since the filing. so, he no longer has skin in the game, his family i'm sure will take up charge with this case. OH is pretty vile in MO. i have seen personal information passed- such as real names / real address' / phone numbers posted when one member has had a pissing match w/another. couldn't pay me enough to be a member . I'm fat because of donuts - let's sue krispy kreme, potato chips - oohh Doritos (big law suit there), Dr Pepper - (millions here I dome)...I could go on and on. They owe me punitory damages as well as years of mental and emotional trama. If they never advertised their poisionious food and put it out there for me consume, I'd never have been fat...
