September exercise challenge?

I like the Orange team - Heba is a fighter, and she has a great attitude...she made me cry talking about her dad. Makes me miss my Dad - though he passed away when I was 9 - we were very close. ;)

my husband thinks heba is going to be a knockout once she loses a bit more - he already thinks she is so pretty & great personality.

i like both orange & red. the red team just seem like SUCH great parents and a loving couple. was neat seeing the "red" dad get pissed because he wanted that camper for his boys - i would have been pissed if the orange team didn't win & someone else did other than red.

so gadget hubby is just as addicted to BL as i am, and while he's traveling he goes to itunes and purchases the episode to download onto his laptop to view - knowing i can't hold out 2wks till he gets home to watch....

oh and the wires - he has an obsession, i mean an OBSESSION w/no wires exposed ... it's quite maddening.

sorry you lost you dad so young ebony.:cool2: i'm enjoying my dad now for the first time in my life - he's beyond type A, was strict, demanding & offered too many opinions unsolicited. being a grandp has mellowed him out & that's a good thing....specially for mom:tongue:

Every time they do a BL Couples or Family show, I've been tempted to do a tape for me and DD so we could do the show together - I'd want Jillian as my trainer, cause she's such a drill sergeant:wub:

The opportunity to have band surgery took that off the table - now I watch the show for inspiration and to see some of what they do in their workouts. They do a AWFUL lot of aerobics - more than I have time for - but they are inspirational because I also haven't seen them need plastic surgery afterwards...

All that butt-kicking activity must help them with the loose skin issues...plus, I think they are younger than I am...

Day off at the gym yesterday, but I did get my walks in. No gym tonight - have a work-related social activity, but I'll walk at lunchtime and again tomorrow. I'll be back in the gym tomorrow and will post the soreness-inducing results here (or in the October exercise challenge thread, when I find it) :cool2:

I wanted to submit me and DH too - like you LB thew that out the window. They lose so much weight so quickly...I can't imagine the emotional affects it has. We lose slowly - and I know at times mentally there is an adjustment for me. My hormones get out of wack and my mind has to catch up with my body. I still think I should shop in the women's section...Imagine losing 80 pounds in two-three months....wow!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
