Folks, do you love burgers but can no longer eat them cause they get stuck?

Well let me suggest something you may want to try. When I grill burgers I take about 2lbs of lean meat and mix in about 2 tablespoons of mustard and 2 tablespoons of BBQ Sauce. Of course you can adjust to your taste. However be very careful as to much additive can give you one big soggy bowl of gunk that will not form into burgers no matter how hard you try. Anyhoo, Slap those babies on the grill and in no time you will have the most moist, easy-slidin' burgers you've ever had. And they taste awesome. Somebody try them and let me know what you think.

I'll have to try that!

When I have burgers, I put them in lettuce leaves along with all the toppings I like. I usually add mayo, tomatoes, pickles, and they go down pretty good too. I don't miss my burgers the old way anymore!

one thing ive learned is to do this.. i was a HUGE burger fan presurgery and until i did this i couldnt bare to eat one!

take very very lean meat (like less than 7%) and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil or such (i use peanut oil) to each pound mix it in.. it adds the extra fat to make your burger juicy but it isnt hard to chew up and makes the meat REALLY moist. I usually add BBQ Sauce on top.

also.. grill your Buns i usually use pam but butter works also

also.. the thinner the burger the better off I've noticed anyway.

I couldn't imagine trying to eat a bun, but the throught of a grilled bun with a big juicy hamburger....oh well I can dream. I may try Betty's idea along with the olive oil in the hamburger mixture.

Thanks for the good ideas. I have no difficulty with burgers let, but I do get my first fill on Thursday so all of that may change.

Sounds good! I make my venison burgers with 1 to 2 pounds of burger, 3 eggs, and either some breadcrumbs (Italian flavored ones are the bomb!) or some oatmeal, as well as some onions.

They stick together great and make a very tasty burger!

P.S. Sometimes I add in spices like garlic/onion salt, parsley, basil too. It adds to the flavor nicely!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
