Ok, I am FREAKING OUT! I got a really good fill about 2 1/2 weeks ago. It was super tight for the first week and then I felt like I got used to it after that. It had been going great until today, well this weekend. I got food poisoning on Friday and was sick all weekend, but not vomiting. Today at lunch (which I am usually very tight and can't eat much) I ate some lasagna with no problem. Then tonight at supper I ate more than I had all weekend. I am just completely paranoid that I have messed my band up with this sudden total lack of restriction. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!:sad::thumbup:

This has been my experience as well. I think from others that I have spoken with, it is a normal thing to have great restriction one meal and not the next even. There are even foods that one time I can eat fine and other times they feel like they get stuck!

I have also lost about 8lbs since the fill so maybe it got looser or something. I feel a bit more restriction today but still not like I had before. It almost felt like I didn't have a band yesterday and it scared me!

I think some days we are tighter than others. I ate an awful lot on Saturday, and it all went down with nary a pain, burp, gurgle, cough....

Today, couldn't even drink Water this morning, tried just a piece of mozzarella cheese, cut small in the afternoon, and couldn't get that down either. Took me two hours to sip a Propel. Finally 8:00pm, went to the Mets game, and had a 4 piece chicken McNuggets. It took me nearly an hour to nibble on those.

So, don't feel bad you ate alot one day. I think if you are eating alot everyday, you need to get a fill.

My restriction can vary a lot from time to time. Some meals I can eat a lot of whatever I want. Some meals Soup doesn't even want to go down.

The band is fickle, but I have found that when you have good restriction, it works more often than not with limited times in the super-restricted or super-loose zones. I wouldn't be too worried if you have a couple of meals go down a little too easy . . . but if it keeps up you need another fill.

Got my "friend" today and only able to get a small amount of chicken down, about 4 bites at lunch. Made Italian Sausage for dinner, had a friend over, and ate just a small piece of a cut up sausage link. So, just made a Protein shake.

Looked back over my food journal and found that every month at this time, two days before, I eat like a pig, then for 3 days, can't get much down. At least I can see it with the journal, makes me freak out less.

I have an appt on Friday, first time in 6 weeks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
