Sept. Samurai Surgery Check-in

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

I am so glad to hear so many sucess stories from the September Samurai's!

I am not having as much sucess.

I don't think I have lost any weight since my post-op visit.

I had been walking since I had surgery until my planter fasciitis flared up making it very painful to walk.:rolleyes2:

So I am not doing any exercises at this time.

Even though my portions are much smaller and I am drinking lots of Water I don't think I'm loosing as I should be loosing.

I go for my first fill on 11/19 and hopefully that will help.

I wish I had a better report but it is what it is.

Sash, don't worry about that. We are all going to lose at different rates. As long as you are not gaining, then you are doing great! My weight loss slowed down dramtically after going back on real food. Just take it one day at a time! We are going to make it!

Sash, have you ever saw a physical therapist about your planter facisitis. I have it, and have had a lot of benefit from seeing one, when it flares.

Thanks!

I am hanging in here trying to stay on course.

I have not gone to a physical therapist but I was seeing a podiatrist. I have orthotics but they are not as helpful as I hoped they would be.

I am wearing the fitflops as much as possible which helps tremendously!

I was having trouble with my left foot (it's okay now) but now it's the right foot.

I do exercises but my left foot still hurts. ouch!

I think I need to go back to the podiatrist.

I know I am probably being impatient on the weight loss I have such high expectations.

This board is such a life saver!

I am so thankful to have a great resource and group of people who are so willing to share!

Ya'll are great!

Thanks JRWN - I've tried several Protein Shakes and really don't like them. strawberry has always been a favorite of mine. I just got caught away from home and had a weak moment when I bought a fast food shake. I really like to make the shake I learned to make in WW years ago. Maybe I can add some Protein Powder to that. Probably everyone knows but it goes 8oz cold skim milk, 1 cut frozen strawberries, artificial sweetner and 1 tsp vanilla, blend. Very good. I'll have to buy some strawberries and try it again. Hopefully my fill tomorrow will help. Simon

I use the vanilla "lean shake" that GNC has. Also, I add vanilla yogurt to it for added Protein.< /p>

I added pumpkin to one and some cinnamon splenda and it was yummy.

Hi, all, I was banded September 29! I have lost 29 pounds. I had no fill prior to surgery. I have had 2 fills and due for another one on Wednesday. I feel some restriction right after the fills, but it goes away. My physician keeps me on liquids until this Wednesday so I can start on mushies then, so we shall see how the fill works.

I think that I have lost a lot of weight because I have a lot to lose. Many of you only have 60-70 pounds to lose. I have lost 29 and have 100 more to lose. Thanks all for the important tips. Dot

Truth be told... I have 100 more pounds to loose. So like you I have a lot to loose, but have only lost 14 since surgery. This last week, I've lost and gained the same 2 pounds.(

Terrilynn, you are amazing to do this as a single mom. I think stress has a lot to do for you. Also you have to feed your children. My children are out of the house and my husband feeds himself. So I only worry about me. I am so impressed that you are exercising. I have not had the energy to start. Good for you!. Dot

I know my messed up body is gonna hold on to every ounce of fat it can.... unless I work it off. So I'm working... hard most days. It's a real struggle with the boys, but I'm lucky in that, the twins sleep until 7:30ish, so i get my oldest up for school. Make his Breakfast, and go to the exercises at home. Then I get him moving (as he's usually back to sleep again), and go shower. Then the twins get up. I eat breakfast with them. It's the only way I get a chance. If the twins are up early, or something happens I can't get it in, and I'm done for the day.

I did it because the boys need their momma for a long time yet. Even my oldest will need me around for a while longer. And my diabetes was getting worse. I had pain in my joints, and my dr's couldn't decide if it was arthritis or my weight. Truthfully I still don't know. But I hope to eliminate the weight factor.

Well anyway, Thanks for the compliment Dot. You're doing great too. I'm proud to have met such wonderful people here.

Teri

I do at times. My dr's warned me because of being diabetic I'd have it more than say a non-diabetic. But in support group I hear it's pretty evenly spread.

Good Morning fellow Samurai's. Got my 1st fill yesterday. Have to admit I was a bit anxious but I didn't feel a thing. Found out that I have a 10cc band and the doc had put in 4cc at surgery. Got another 2cc yesterday. I can definetly feel restriction today. Breakfast filled me up faster and fuller. Hope it lasts. According to the doc I have lost 20#. I like my 23 better but am no longer morbidly obese but now just obese. My BMI has gone from a 43 to a 39. Woo Hoo!!!! I'm on my way! Keep up the chatter, I learn so much from reading these posts. Thanks Simon

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
