Hi Peeps....sorry too tired to update and wow there are alot of us now huh?

Eileen - I feel ya with the needing a fill. I had that slight unfill and although the reflux has gone away now I'm nervous because I can eat too much. I obviously try not to over do it but, it's SO HARD to not eat things you shouldn' t  I swear it's a good thing my "will power" doesn't have calories because I've eaten my will power too many times already. I'm trying to weigh the food, measure it etc. Did great the beginning of the week then my stress level going on over the week ending, not seeing what I was hoping to see in my paycheck after spilling my guts really hurt....so what did I do? Did I exercise it away nope....UGHHHH. I need a band for my head!

Eileen - are you keeping all the pups or finding homes for them? Just curious  I have two goldens and man oh man the fur from these things is crazy! I love em but, don't think I'll be doing two dogs again.

Awww.... you have two goldens? I have one. He's a big lug named Cooper. Such a sweet heart. I keep him shaved down like a yellow lab (Okay, so he has an identity crisis goin on...) just because of the hair. He looks like a giant beige bear. His weight is my dream goal weight - 126 - ain't gonna happen! I've often thought of getting another so that, god forbid, when he goes to the big kennel in the sky, it would be easier on my sons. I swore I'd never have a big dog, extra hairy dog or male dog. But, when I went to visit the puppies and he sat at my feet while the other dogs ran around all spazzy and whatnot, I knew he was the one! Actually, my son had been quite ill at the time where we would have to regularly visit the National Institute of Health in DC (he's fine now!) and I PROMISED him a dog when things were looking up. A Golden was his choice. So, that's the story of Cooper the wonder dog!

On another note, NJ gals, anyone close to Atlantic City? Hubby and I are thinking about going this weekend. Any suggestions on where to stay? Thinking of Harrahs at the Marina, what/where ever that is, LOL. Would love suggestions.

Sorry, Pat. I caught this late. The Borgata is very nice and its right next to Harrah's Marina. There also is another very upscale one right next to it that just opened, but I don't remember the name. These are a couple of miles away from the Boardwalk in a much quieter area. I really don't get to AC much at all. The last time I went was to the Borgato and I saw "IL Divo". Otherwise, I just don't get the opportunity to visit. There is a Harrah's outside of Philly that I take my Mom to once in a while when she has the gambling bug! Would you be traveling here via your boat or driving up? If you are driving up and taking Route 40 in NJ you'll come right through my town a few miles after the Delaware Memorial Bridge. So, if you didn't go this weekend and plan it for another, pm and maybe you can visit en route!

Hi girls, just dropping in, to update....things are not good.

I go the stupid stomach virus again, ran high fever, and vomitted non stop for hours. Not to be in a TMI situation, but for one reason or another I was in the bathroom non stop!

Lasted for a day and a half, got a shot for the nausea finally, and it eased.

But from that day on I have been totally unable to eat or drink, and get anything to pass. I drink, because I am obsessed with it, I am dying of thirst----but get a cup or so in, and up it comes.

Well we had family coming in from all over for my MIL's 80th birthday party, and I made it through, then Rick took me to urgent care, where I received IV fluids. The instructions were to sim 5l. from a sysringe every 5 minutes or so (= to 1 tsp.) with the goal of 3 TBSP per hour. Now I am to try not to swallow any of this, rather allow it to absorb through the tissue in my mouth, sublingually. I am to keep my stomach pouch as totally empty as possible. I am supposed to suck on popsicles and all my drinks have to be full sugar versions. My weight is dropping rapidly, but not in a healthy manner of course. I weighed in last night in ER at 154.5----totally bizarre to not be concerned with weight loss all of a sudden!

I have been in contact with my band Dr. he supports the way we are handling it. I have to talk to his office manager tomorrow, he would have called her but she was out of town with a sons soccer game. I need to find out how to get (if it will) my insurance to cover. If my PCP can refer me to the band Dr. or if I need my PCP to order the swallow study, then refer me.....or if I must fly blind with a local surgeon for a total band removal.

He said the TT has pulled up and likely is the issue at hand.....I am like way too restricted, even though I have no fill, and it is due to pressure on the band.

I am scared and unhappy with my options......but life is not always fair I suppose.

So....I will update you as I have any changes.......and when I have more energy to sit here, I will try to get some personals done! Til then (((((hugs))))))) to all!

Kat

Trish, thanks for the info, I think we'll prob stay at Harrah's Marina, but probably won't go for a while now. This month is filled with a lot of odds and ends and Fort Lauderdale is scheduled for Oct 16-22, plus I'm trying to work my "touch up" surgery in there somewhere. Our trip to Mexico is supposed to be Nov 13, if I don't divorce DH first. He's been on my last nerve lately. We're supposed to go to the beach house tomorrow because it's supposed to be near 100.

It was absolutely beautiful today. I turned the pool heater on and it was 93, it was heaven.

Donna, you'll have to remind me about the 1st, well a few days before the 1st. Had lunch with Diane yesterday and we did some shopping, we had a great day.

Sherry, what were you thinking! It's supposed to be your vacation, take the time, enjoy a little time for yourself.

Eileenie, hey puppie other mama, glad you stopped in to chat with us.

Kat, I posted as you did, OMG, that's terrible you're going through so much. Please keep us informed as to what's going on. You should PM, Karey Quilts, she had an issue with her band after TT. Here I am thinking of going back in for "touch ups"...maybe not.

Sherry, when you coming to see me, VA's only a skip and a hop .

This damn thing updating every few seconds, makes letters drop in every post I make!!!

I am sipping 5 ml. every 5 minutes out of a syringe---I have to take in 9 of them to make my 3 TBSP goal per hour.

Just thought I should clarify!!!

hi ladies,

how are you all? ok here. a little weak today. i am at day 6, is this normal? i am feeling a bit more hungry, but cannot eat more than 3 oz at a time. and my intolerance to milk products has dramatically increased. i can only handle about 2 oz of liquid yogurt or the Atkins Protein Drink. other than that i am pretty ok. been having a pain towards the side of my abdomin, like 2 inches under my left breast. i think it is my stomach healing and gas.

i am hoping this all sounds normal to you! i get a little nervous.

Hi girls--

Just a quick note, have spent the day at the hospital here trying to coordinate xrays and tests with my band Dr. who is 6 hours away. I am totally dehydrated, and had to beg to keep my Dr from hospitalizing me. My eyesight is in the legally blind category!! The vitrious fluid/gel in the eye is dehydrated and lessened, which makes your eyes look sunken----but it also causes the lens on the eye to sit different, and it is wierd---I cannot see squat!!!

Anyway....I went and had 2 liters of Fluid by IV. I go back at 7:15 in the morning for 2 more liters then again tomorrow afternoon, and same on Wed.

I My band Dr. wants me to have more Fluid so not to travel tomorrow----and his surgery day to do other lap bands is on Wed. so I see him on Thurs. Which with all the fluids, and such, he said my band might right itself before he sees me, but I still need to come, we need to fix it.

All indications are not that it has slipped, but that it has prolapsed. Since I have no fill the band is wide open, so he thinks as I vomitted so hard and the dry heaves are so strong, that I literally pulled the lower stomach back up through the band---or at least a section----and that with the swelling, it is stuck! He said if it rights itself----and there is no sign of slippage or beginning signs of erosion from it, then I might consider filling it some, and that would keep it from happening----otherwise I am looking at losing my band all together.

It is very upsetting, but right now I do not need to lose any more weight. I am tall 5'9" and I am down in the 150's now-- 153.0 at the hospital, dressed, shoes and all. So by the time I get this done I will be in the 140's.........not sure I want to live with restriction when I do not need to be....I don't know I will make the decision after all the facts are in.

I am exhausted, I have not slept but about 3 hours in 3 days-----I am too dry mouthed to sleep! Seems like the fluids helped that, so I am off to bed I think.

Will keep you posted!

Hugs~~

Kat

Kat, I'm so sorry about the issues you're having with your band. I have my fingers crossed you don't lose the band.

Michaele, I didn't do milk or Protein shakes in the beginning, mostly Jello, and liquids. I wish you the best.

Would chat more, but I'm sleepy,

Hugs All.

Howdy friends, Just poppin in to say hello and yippee I have the next 3 days off from work. Now...if I can keep myself from checking emails and poking around I'll be ok :)

Kat I hope things are going ok for you. I thought my stomach was prolasped too with my reflux. When he unfilled me though I swear for two weeks it felt funny then all of a sudden I felt something move like slide so I thought...hmmm wonder if that was my stomach. Still wonder. I do hope its nothing serious though and that you're doing ok.

NJSoldier - I hope you're healing up well too.

Betty - You too girl. Hope you're feeling much better. How are the girls lookin?

Hey Gals...

Just wanted to stop in and blow you all a kiss... MWWWWAAAAH!

Betty... Not sure what type of surgery you had done but hope you are healing fast and that you survived the storm that came your way!

Eileen... I wanna a puppy!!! No... wait... I change my mind. :)

Pat... thanks for the love note on POGO.

SHerry... I sure am trying life in the direction of the secret... but darned if reality doesn't keep biting me in the arse. :)

Kitty Kat... You look marvelous. :) (((Hugs)))

Everyone... missed ya... love ya... just was busy trying to keep myself from teetering off the edge of sanity. I think I made it through... only time will tell.

ANyhoo... quick update... I'm well over 100 pounds overweight... banded but unable to tolerate fills and simply devastated about it... that is another reason for my hiatus. So...don't feel like a great bandster... actually... I don't feel like one at all. Just feel fat... uncomfortable... and lots of other really positive stuff...lol.

Luvs to you all...

Darcy

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
