Stephanie hasn't been good at all. Don't ask. I'm back on the good foot, now. I have to lose weight before I go see my fam in December.

I am down a pound from last posting here.

I won't make my goal by Halloween, but I am happy that I have gotten off what I gained, since the wedding. I am almost back to my ticker weight (.4 to go for that).

New goal, to get in the 160's before Thanksgiving.

I had to reduce my walking mileage a bit last week ( possibly this week) as I have a nasty blister on the bottom of my foot. It's almost a callous now and that's what I need it to be to get back to five miles vs. 3.5 miles.

Bandpal, you did awesome! Looks like you will win this challenge!

Steph, you're doing great!

Judy, I wish I had the motivation to walk like you do. I need to start excercising if I'm going to jumpstart my weight loss again.

As Cindy said, you guys are doing great!

Walking is my only saviour at the moment. I am still stuck at the same weight so looks like it will have to be the next challenge for me.

Thanks, guys. I'm actually doing REALLY well sticking to plan. And since I'm not eating easy calories anymore, my calorie consumption is WAY down. So my goal is to be 28 lbs lighter by the 17th of December. It's a lot of weight, but I know I can do it. I'm looking forward to the next challenge!

WTG, Bandpal! You are cruisin' right along!

Shortgal - wow....I'm impressed. I couldn't imagine doing this without the band - I really couldn't. You are amazing. Keep up the good work!

Thank you, Steph and Cindy... This has been a pretty good time for me. My appetite is small and a quarter of a cup of anything solid generally fills me up for in between three and four hours. My eating speed is gradually decreasing, and all in all I'd say I'm adjusting to being a person with greatly different eating habits than I had a year ago. Nights are still a sticking point... the desire to compensate, to indulge and to punish or simply to perpetuate a bad habit is sometimes insurmountable, but I've been able to forgive myself and not let one bad night metastize into a bad tomorrow. As a result, the good days simply outnumber the bad ones, exactly the opposite of the way it was before.

Of course, the positive reinforcement from the weight loss also makes it much easier to continue... a lot of compliments and a lot of nice clothing, too! I'm really happy about the renewed discussion here, and looking forward to closing out a year of miracles along with all of you.

Steph, you're doing great! I need some inspiration. My bandiversary is Nov. 1 and the scale is playing tricks with me. Up and down 2 pounds is getting on my nerves. I need to get on a real plan and stick with it.

Thanks. I was a little discouraged because I was stalled for a whole week (I don't think I've ever stalled in my whole LIFE for that long). When I saw I had dropped two lbs overnight, you should have seen my face. LOL I made this face  in the mirror. haha

You just have to figure out something that works for you. And when it's time, it's time. I haven't been this motivated since the first 6 months directly after my surgery. I have a GOAL - that I don't want to go see my family and be a fatty. So I have until December 17th to drop as much as possible. I think having a date in mind like that makes it easier to stick to it. I think when it's something external forcing you to lose the weight (judgment from my family), it is much easier. That's just my experience.

That's great, Steph - glad you're finding yourself motivated and centered. Although I'm a believer that all that stuff has to come from within, I'm also a big believer in WW - Whatever Works. I also have a family visit coming up soon and it's definitely on my mind. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
