Hi Melolo I had been doing the liquid/mushy foods and just drinking Water and the Protein Water. I started yesterday the regular diet and this is what i could handle

breakfast- 1 scrambled egg and two tiny bites of diet wheat toast

lunch- 1 vienna sausage and 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes

supper- same

this morning i had

Breakfast 1 scrambled egg/cheese

lunch 2oz ham and mashed potatoe

supper 2oz chicken, small mashed potatoe, small mac/cheese

and I have been doing some walking

I hope this helps. Personally I pick over my food cause I'm never hungry

Hello, I checked out your post and wanted to let you know you are doing great . Everyone is different. Most surgeons will tell you that many people don't lost any significant weight (some gain) until they begin fills and have restriction. Please concentrate on healing right now and just try not to eat more than they suggest or foods that aren't allowed.

Marie, your meals sound alot like mine during that stage. Now, I eat about a cup of food at each meal. Sometimes I can only eat a half cup of Soup before I am full. It varies. How do you eat your chicken? I have to chew, chew, chew, and still feel like it may stick. Luckily it hasn't yet.

Hi crzytchr I just take my chicken and remove the skin and really mash it up before I eat it.. and just take really small bites I do that with all my foods. I told one of my daughters last night that I never thought I would be picking at my food before I eat it insted of just woofing it down...lol

Hi,

It's me... Thanks for sharing Marie. Hey Crzytchr! Thanks for the encouragement. I'm very grateful for both. I got a little scared because it seemed I was starting to go up instead of going down or at least maintaining. This morning I step on the scale and I'm back to 323 which is good news. I'm heading in the right direction:)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
