What is this? Bruised feet?

Recommended Posts

I have lost 47 pounds and I feel like the bottoms of my feet are bruised. I also felt like this when I lost a lot of weight on Atkins. I walk anywhere from 3-7 miles . . . almost daily. Is it the loss of fat on the bottoms of my feet? Is it from so much walking?

It's just kind of annoying. I'm okay if I'm in running shoes or wearing comfy shoes . . . but I can barely go barefoot at all anymore. Isn't that weird?

Um, yeah, lol.

Dont know what that could be.

I have something weird that happens to me, totally unrelated. If i have a bad couple of days - like too much alcohol or bad food, I get sore all over. I notice it towelling myself dry, it hurts. I've NEVER liked massages, that kind of pressure over and over on one spot is utterly exruciating to me, even light, relaxation massages really hurt me. I go for a run and every time a foot hits the ground, of course, your flesh vibrates, that hurts.

Its only when I've overdone things (although massages hurt all the time). Nobody has EVER managed to give me an answer. Every naturopath of course thinks they can fix it, that its a wheat or dairy allergy (of course, isnt that the answer to EVERTHING?), but its never proven the case.

Just weird. Like your feet.

Hope they feel better soon!

Jachut, Your "weird" problem actually sounds just like fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed with that years ago . . . but I find that mine comes and goes (the foot thing is totally unrelated -- it's a different type of feeling).

I started noticing I had something wrong with me because someone thought something was funny and elbowed me playfully on the arm and very lightly . . . like people sometimes do (maybe it's an American thing, I don't know). But I thought there was no way that should hurt so much. And then pretty much everything hurt. Sometimes my sheets hurt me while I slept at night, it was that bad.

Fibromyalgia is pretty much what I think they tell EVERYONE who has that problem, but I do know that it is exacerbated by a lot of exercise, not enough exercise, too much sugar, and too much consumption of products containing aspartame.

Well, I found out what my weird problem is . . . I have plantar fasciitis! Thankfully, it seems like there are tons of different ways to get relief from it.

Haha...that's what I was going to mention to you. I used to get it really bad. As I get lighter, it seems to decrease. Improving your stride and what shoes you wear can help, too. You might consider going to a physical therapist to see if they can do a stride analysis for you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
