Hey! I am still looking into the surgery, but bottom line is that I can't do anything until July because that's when I'll be back on insurance, but I would like some feedback from those of you in Victoria or the surrounding area...who did yours...how was it...etc....

Thanks =)

Dr Spiegel did my surgery.

But, from what Ive heard, there is another one in that area that is also doing the AGB (banding). You may want to ask Kellymoos (Kelly) - she is a moderator on this board and lives in the Beaumont area. She may know more about the surgeons.

Good luck!

I am going to Victoria on July 6th to meet w/Dr. Chang of Citizens Bariatric Center. I've been to our local support group in Corpus and most folks have used either Dr. Chang or Dr. McDanial (in group practice). They all have wonderful comments on both of them. The support group here is mostly with folks who've had the gastric bypass. I am looking at the lapband procedure. I'll know more after the consult.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
