Hi

I am having a bad couple of days if I'm honest. The scales have hardly moved over the last few weeks despite eating sensibley and getting plenty of exercise. I know the bands not a magic cure or anything but neverthe less I am feeling disappointed and frustrated. Anyway, the last few days Ive eaten chocolate and my healthy food plan has gone right out the window. Of course now I feel even worse :smile2: what a surprise!

I would really appreciate some encouragement /support from any of you out there to help me keep on keeping on with what I know is a long road ahead of me.

Thank you!

Julia xx

Oh sweetie, We've all been there done that. i still have that problem from time to time. food will be a constant battle for all of us. You just have to stay strong! You are on the right track. Just stick with your plan and keep pushing. Try to change up your eating habbits and throw like 10 more minutes in your work out. Just try different things. If you are stuck in a slump, it could be because you have gotten stuck in a routine. I know its easier said than done, but my nutritionist told me to just weigh myself once a week or I will drive myself crazy.

You can do it girl. 110 Percent! Keep your chin up and don't discredit yourself for the weight you've have already lost. Every piece of chocolate you eat, is one step you are just going to have to turn around and walk back up. Don't cheat yourself.

i agree with Hollie... everyone evenutally hits a plateau and you either have to wait it out or change your routine a bit. for me, just changing what i eat makes a difference.

for me, i get a lot of my Protein by drinking slimfast for Breakfast and lunch and having some sort of chicken or other Protein for dinner. when i find myself plateau'ing i will exchange my lunch slimfast for some cheese or a Protein Bar for a week and then the scale starts moving again.

i'm 4 months post-surgery and my rapid weight loss is over. i've now been averaging 1 pound a week and it's hard not seeing the scale move like it used to but i have yet to gain one pound of it back!

i'm thinking of jumpstarting my metabolism by taking a "beginner's running" class. supposedly after 8 weeks i'll be able to run in a 5k race. 4 months ago i would have NEVER have thought i could do it. now i'm feeling more confident in myself to take on new challenges.

Hey they don't lie. Here we have a Mountain that is a 3.5 mile hike to the top. It's like stone steps the whole way up. Intense! The first time i did it at 220, i had to stop every 10 minutes because I couldn't breathe. I than did it at 180 and flew up it. I am going on Monday at 154 and i plan on trying to run a bit on the way to the top. Skinny people don't understand why heavy people don't work out more but its like hello, you have half the weight. Try putting weights on of what you've lost and see how hard it is.

I can't wait for biggest loser to start again. That show always gives me big motivation.

Hi Hollie

Thanks so much for replying, its really encouraged me. Its hard sometimes feeling like you're on your own with the band, and so I do appreciate hearing from you.

Ihave to say congratulations on how fantastically well you've done with your band, thats absolutely amazing, it's a huge encouragement to me just looking at your tickerchart.

Kind regards

Julia

When i had the surgery, my wouldn't even stop buying ice cream until I told the doctor. When he called her out, she was very mad. So i know what its like to feel like you are all alone.

Bless your heart we all hit those day's what seems like weeks that the scale don't move. I know I had 10 days that I played with the same pound up and down...up and down.... I was getting bummed too but then it happened! The scale moved! lol and it moved again!

Don't beat yourself up for eating something "not healthy" It happens! To tell you the truth if I told myself I could NEVER eat a sweet or some kinda junk food I don't know how I would handle it :tt2: I think it's ok to eat something "off plan" sometimes. Kill the urge/craving and move on. The band has helped me to just eat a bite or two of it instead of the whole thing!

When you start to get down look at where you are now compared to where you were when you started your journey!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
