Chase Bank--Chances are SO slim....

Recommended Posts

I know the chances are SOOO slim... but thought I would ask if anyone on here works for Chase Bank??? That is who my insurance is through and I just wish I knew someone who had gotten it done with Chase Insurance! I am worried about being too young (21) and my BMI being right at 40... Guess you can just say I want this soooo bad and I am so scared I will be denied...

I'm 22 and my BMI is 44, but most insuarances want ur BMI to be 40 or more some will even do 35 or more w/health probems like diabetes and what not. All you can do is give it ur best. The surgery centers where I live wont take my insuarace (Tricare) because they don't pay them back enough. So I am having to self pay...I went and got a CareCredit card...It's worth it to try....do what you can to get ur surgery approved, good luck

Same problem in Canada, weight loss surgery is not covered yet by OHIP, which I thing wrong especially for people with BMR 40 or up where the surgery is something to safe live not to improve the body's shape, however I think you still find some institutions that help you to fund the surgery ask your lap band clinic about that.

I was just curious...if your BMI is only 28 why are you looking at have a Lapband? Isn't 28 a pretty good place to be...I don't know....just wondering...

I'm in Canada too, so had to pay for the lapband myself. Best decision I ever made... it has saved my life! No matter how much stress I have, and I'm a stress eater!!!, my band saves me from binging. I've been banded for over a year and have lost almost 75 lbs so far. I still have a ways to go, but I feel so much better now.

As for paying for the band... I financed it at a high interest rate! It cost me way too much, so have recently paid this off through the Cash Leverage System... check it out.

Good Luck!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
